Earlier this week, Fed Powell told a Senate committee hearing that short term inflation will rise as a result of a surge in spending as the economy reopens. But he said he doesn't expect that to be a persistent longer-term issue and if high inflation persistent, that he has the tools to deal with it.

Fed Powell said the US dollar is the United States perfectly reliable and stable in value. But how can the US dollar be a store of value when the M2 money supply has increase 25% in 12 months.

The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield hit 1.6% yesterday and in the process spooking the Markets. To add insult to injury, the updated fourth-quarter GDP growth estimate came in at 4.1%, slightly above the numbers from last month.

Although the 10 yr treasury yield is at a major resistance/support band, more pain could be in store for the Markets as price could continue to move higher to the monthly supply at 2.0%.
