Hello Hivers 😊 Another day for a new blog! I hope everyone has a great day 😊
It was another yearly reminder of our pillar at home's life's preciousness and importance. Last September 22, we held an advance birthday celebration with my father-in-law because his birthday falls on Wednesday which is September 26. Since it was already given that weekdays were a workweek and my workplace was far and traveling was quite the ordeal, so we celebrated it earlier in SM Cebu City at Mesa Restaurant.
As you can see, Christmas Holidays are just around the corner here. The façade was decorated beautifully with the breeze of the Christmas season, "ber months” are irresistible. Hehehe!
Oh, Wow! Christmas feels! The entire place inside the mall was decorated with Christmas lights. I was just overwhelmed with what I saw. Time flies so fast. Christmas Day is almost approaching.
Mesa Restaurant is located on the Upper Ground floor beside CAFÈ Laguna and alongside Breadtalk and Starbucks outlet. Likewise, we can also ask the guards on duty or even use our phone's Google map.
Mesa Restaurant offers a variety of Asian cuisine. They have a lot of different to choose from, different flavors of Filipino dishes, and reasonable prices.
*Interior Design *
The interior design was unique. The lighting fixtures looked so classy and elegant. The tables and chairs were so organized and made of hardwoods. The ambiance of the place was so cozy and vibrant.
Below, you will find the list of Mesa Menu and prices.
We ordered SET B. The inclusions were the following:
This Mesalo-salo Menu is good for 4-5 persons which cost 3,155 pesos with unlimited steamed rice.
Sinigang Salmon Head – It is a Filipino dish known for its sour, tangy, and savory flavor. As you can see, it has various vegetables like tomato, radish, string beans, eggplants, and spinach together with the key ingredient the salmon head. For the degree of sourness, it was seven out of ten. I wanted something more. Hahaha! However, the sour broth just complements the tender and flavorful salmon head. Any kind of soup was my comfort food paired up with steamed rice.
Garlic Chicken – It was incredibly tasty. We super liked it. It has an aromatic smell and robust flavor. Their garlic chicken was so tender and juicy. The rich garlic aroma just dominated, making it both comforting and delicious. Thus, this menu was a timeless favorite of my partner. Hahaha!
Crispy Boneless Tilapia – It was the first time that I tried that recipe aside from frying a tilapia. The taste was fantastic. It was indeed a delightful dish that had a crunchy texture and just a mild and delicate flavor perfect for dipping the four kinds of sauces. It was great.
Bicol Express – This is another flavorful and spicy Filipino dish. It tastes great with the balance of creamy green beans and pork meat with sliced chili pepper which adds to its spicy flavor. This menu is perfect for people who like to savor spicy and creamy dishes.
Braised Beef - It is another Filipino delicious dish known for its tender, melt-in-your-month texture and deep and savory in taste. The meat was so tender and brimming with savory delight. It was a hearty and comforting dish then.
Pancit Canton is another all-time favorite Filipino dish of mine. Hehehe! And I believe my child takes after me. Their pancit canton was also savory and had umami-rich flavors. The dish has a variety of different vegetables and crispy, thinly sliced adobo in a small portion. The combination of these ingredients creates a delightful blend of texture and flavors, with the noodles engrossing the tasty sauce and the vegetables giving a fresh crunch.
Pancit Canton is one of the extremely well-liked comfort foods that's both satisfying and mouthwatering, making it a favorite Filipino cuisine, especially on birthday occasions.
Thus, their fresh fruit juice drinks were also refreshing and flavorful leaving a natural blend of fruit liquid. It quenched our thirst and made us burp. Hehehe!
It was a memorable dining experience. The staff were also accommodating and approachable. The service was recommendable.
But wait? Where was the cake? Hahaha! Oh, here, we were heading to Leona’s Cake and Pastries outlet. It is known for its premium sweets and baked treats.
Their cake prices ranged from 500-1300 pesos.
We chose the Choco Mocha Mousse which cost 650 pesos considering that this was my grandmother’s favorite flavor. Hehehe!
And yes! It tasted good.
Happiness left our hearts and good moments together in this pre-birthday celebration.

Ultimately, the core of celebrating a birthday is to rejoice in life and the passage of time with our loved ones.
Let’s enjoy and celebrate life while we can!
That’s all for my blog today. My sincerest thanks for taking the time to read and support my blog, until next time. See you!
