How to Create a New Account for Free with an Account Creation Token
On the first day of this year, I wrote a tutorial on how to use Hive Keychain and your excess resource credits to automatically claim tokens for creating new accounts.
Thanks to this token, it's possible to create easily and quickly a completely new account, which can then be used by us or gifted to a friend.
Once you've claimed at least one token, you can create an account in just a few very simple steps using an interface like the one provided by Peakd, which will be the frontend I’ll use in this short guide to show you how it’s done.
Let’s see how!
There are just a few steps to follow, and they allow you to both create a new account and change its passwords.
The creation of the new account must be done by the person who owns the account creation token, while the password change must be carried out by the person who will use the account.
If you’ll be the one using it, there’s obviously no need to change the passwords.
Let’s get started:
- Go to the "Wallet" section, click the downward arrow next to "unstake" – make sure not to click on unstake! 😅 – and then click on "Create Account with Token":
If the account is for you... you’ve already completed the process!
If instead the account is for someone else, that person will need to take a few more steps to change the access keys so that only they know them.
To do that, after logging into Peakd, they’ll need to:
- Go to any page of their profile – for example, "All posts" – and click on "Account Actions" and then "Keys & Permissions":
Procedure completed!
Now the new account can be used without any limits, as it is a full account identical to those you can create using any other Hive service.
What on centralized platforms is managed and controlled by a single entity, on Hive is instead in the hands of the users, who can use their influence on the chain to grant access to new people—be they friends, family, or even complete strangers wanting to join this wonderful ecosystem.
New accounts can also be used by the very person who created them, as in the case of the account I just created, @liquid.wolf, to manage one’s Hive activity more conveniently and securely.
There are many possibilities, and it’s up to us to decide how, and whether, to use them :)

Come Creare un Nuovo Account Gratuitamente con un Token per la Creazione di Account
Il primo giorno di quest'anno ho scritto un tutorial su come sfruttare Hive Keychain ed i propri resource credits in eccesso per ottenere automaticamente dei token per la creazione di nuovi account.
Grazie a questo token è infatti possibile creare, facilmente e velocemente, un account completamente nuovo, che può poi essere utilizzato da noi oppure regalato ad un nostro amico.
Una volta che si è ottenuto almeno un token, è possibile creare un account in pochi semplicissimi passaggi usando, ad esempio, un'interfaccia come quella offerta da Peakd, che sarà il frontend ci cui mi servirò in questa piccola guida per mostrarvi come fare.
Vediamo come!
Gli steps da completare sono pochissimi e consentono sia di creare un nuovo account, che cambiare le relative password.
La creazione del nuovo account dovrà essere fatta da chi possiede il token per la creazione di nuovi account, mentre il cambio di password dalla persona che utilizzerà l'account.
Se ad utilizzarlo saremo noi stesso non sarà, ovviamente, necessario cambiare le password.
Iniziamo:
- Andate nella sezione "Wallet", cliccate sulla freccetta che punta in basso accanto ad "unstake" - mi raccomando, non cliccate su unstake! 😅 - e poi su "Create Account with Token":
Se l'account è per voi... avete già concluso la proceduta!
Se invece l'account è per qualcun altro, questa persona dovrà compiere alcuni step ulteriori per cambiare le chiavi di accesso all'account, in modo che lui/lei sia l'unico a conoscerle.
Per farlo, dopo essersi loggato su Peakd, dovrà:
- Andare su un pagina qualsiasi del suo profilo - per esempio, "All posts" - e cliccare su "Account Actions" e poi "Keys & Permissions":
Procedura terminata!
Adesso è possibile utilizzare il nuovo account senza limiti di sorta, dal momento che si tratta di un account completo ed identico a quelli che è possibile creare con qualsiasi altro servizio disponibile su Hive.
Ciò che su piattaforme centralizzate viene gestito e controllato da una sola entità, su Hive è invece nelle mani degli utenti, che possono così utilizzare la propria influenza sulla chain per consentire l'accesso a nuove persone, che siano amici, parenti o anche completi estranei che vogliono entrare a far parte di questo magnifico ecosistema.
I nuovi account possono anche essere utilizzati dalla stessa persona che li ha creati, come nel caso dell'account che ho appena creato, @liquid.wolf, per gestire in maniera più comoda e sicura la propria attività su Hive.
Le possibilità sono tante e sta solo a noi decidere come, e se, utilizzarle :)
