Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Flowers of the Caucasus 2nd Series - Fritillaria lutea - Soviet Union 1976 - Michel's USSR 4549 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

You know, considering the Flowers of the Caucasus 2nd Series series of postage stamps, issued in the USSR in 1976, I asked one question why this series was named the way you read above, and not flowers from the buttercup family.

In theory, the second option is more preferable, because these flowers are found not only in the Caucasus and, in the Caucasus, you can also see flowers from other families.

But, probably, I am too nitpicky about this magnificent series of postage stamps, made very high quality and time consuming, after all. it is not a simple lithograph, it is a cut of layers of an image in the paper, which makes it look like the president of the United States of America, depicted on dollar bills, when you touch the bill.

On the next postage stamp, which will complete this series, we will see the plant Fritillaria lutea.

As I said, this beautiful leopard-like flower belongs to the buttercup family and can be poisonous.

It is a bulbous plant, like tulips and gladioli.

The denomination of this postage stamp is 6 kopecks of the USSR. For the same money, you could take a trolleybus twice, drink half a liter of kvass, buy six boxes of matches, make a phone call three times, or buy a postage stamp and send a letter to your relatives.

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.
