Good evening, great people, Good evening @starkerz and your team members, I applaud you all, you're doing a great job, and we are supporting you tirelessly.

It has been a long week for me on the spendhbd project marketing, and till this minute my hand is still on deck making sure that this project makes headway.

Yes, we need businesses to be listed, but we need more users to join Hive and use hbd for transactions, so this week I focused on onboarding and mentoring new users who will join Hive, use hbd for transactions, and also add value to Hive by creating original content and engaging in other activities.

I also thought about business owners, if they get proper mentorship, that will help them to tell people about Hive and the SpendHBD project, so it has been a week filled with marketing, onboarding, and proper mentorship.

Marketing

Right now, we have some students from the University of Lagos who have joined Hive, so my next goal is to list businesses around the school environment to enable them to participate and enjoy the spendhbd project.
Students buy lots of phone accessories, and there is a buy now, pay later phone accessory showroom in the school environment.

This easy buy showroom is owned by Engineer Oyewole, and he partners with some companies like Tecno and Samsung, and he allows students to purchase phones and pay gradually.
So I approached him and introduced the Hive and Spendhbd projects to him, emphasizing how they will benefit his business.
He was interested and asked series of questions which included how to get his money in Nigeria, I mentioned the easiest way to get his money in Naira which is converting hbd to Naira with @ezabay exchange, This can also be done through p2p transactions if he already has an exchange of his choice and the good thing is that crypto transactions doesn't take much time.

He asked for sometime to think about it, and by next Wednesday I will check back to see what he concludes hoping to list his business as we have hive users in the environment.

Physical and Online mentorship

Onboarding is important, but mentorship is more important because the new user needs to be educated on the dos and don'ts of Hive, and that will also help the new users to see how they can improve.

Physical mentorship on daily basis might not be easy, yes Wednesdays are for marketing and mentorship but before then I created a WhatsApp group where I drop screen recordings on some basic things, like how to create content through ecency, how to add proper tags, how to add pictures and make comments on other people's content.

As a result of the online mentorship two of the newbies have been able to complete their introductory post

@graclyn was also able to make her introduction post after
having a three-hour section of mentorship session with her. Her business is listed on Hive, but she only understands how keychain and v4vapp work. But as a user, she needs to know all it takes to be an active user on Hive

I helped her to locate communities of her choice, I taught her how to reply and engage in other creators' content, and I warned her to avoid AI and ChatGPT and only create original content.

Next week's goal

Every week I set new goals and work hard to achieve them, next week I am going to focus on catching more young ones, having a practice session on how to buy and pay with hbd in a listed business, and also check on some old listed businesses to see how they are doing so far.

More users, more listed businesses, and more hbd spent
