When I started watching this movie, I didn’t know it was a sequel to 2018’s A Small Favor, which I saw a while back, and while I don’t remember the whole movie in detail, I did have a general idea of what it was about and that really helped me understand this new 2025 installment.

Cuando empecé a ver esta película, no sabía que era una secuela de Un pequeño favor de 2018, que vi hace tiempo, y aunque no recuerdo toda la película con detalles, sí tenía una idea general de lo que se trataba y eso me ayudó mucho a entender esta nueva entrega de 2025.
The new events take place five years after the events of the first film. Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) is now not only a mommy blogger, but also a writer, and published a crime and mystery book telling the story she lived with Emily (Blake Lovely) with the title The Blonde Without a Face, and where she used Emily’s name to talk about the murderer that during her investigation she discovered and who was the friend who had asked her for a small favor. After spending the last 5 years in prison, Emily shows up at the bookstore where Stephanie is promoting her new book to invite her to be her maid of honor at her wedding to a wealthy Italian on the island of Capri.
As expected, Stephanie refuses. However, Emily threatens to report her for using her name in the book, so she has no choice but to accept and embarks on this new adventure with the strong suspicion that Emily is seeking revenge on her for having outed her in the past. During the wedding celebration events some murders occur in which Stephanie will be directly involved and she will have to use her wits to discover the killers and get out of the whole situation unscathed.
Los nuevos eventos ocurren cinco años después de los suscitados en la primera película. Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) ahora no es solo mamá bloguera, sino también escritora, y publicó un libro de crimen y misterio contando la historia que vivió con Emily (Blake Lovely) con el título La rubia sin rostro, y donde utilizó el nombre de Emily para hablar de la asesina que durante su investigación descubrió y que era la amiga que le había pedido un pequeño favor. Tras pasar los últimos 5 años en prisión, Emily se presenta en la librería donde Stephanie está promocionando su nuevo libro para invitarla a ser su dama de honor en su boda con un adinerado italiano en la isla de Capri.
Como es de esperar, Stephanie se niega. Sin embargo, Emily la amenaza con denunciarla por usar su nombre en el libro, por lo que no tiene otra opción que aceptar y se embarca en esta nueva aventura con la fuerte sospecha de que Emily busca vengarse de ella por haberla descubierto en el pasado. Durante los eventos de celebración de la boda ocurren algunos asesinatos en los que Stephanie estará directamente involucrada y deberá usar su ingenio para descubrir a los asesinos y salir ilesa de toda la situación.
The funniest thing about this film is the chemistry of the two protagonists, that friend-enemy relationship that they have to take care of each other, but for which they are equally appreciated. Its dynamic is based on a series of comments where sarcasm is used a lot and the exposure of the mistakes and secrets that were kept in the past, because these women turned out to be very good friends. So to understand the dynamic and the conversations between Stephanie and Emily it is important to watch the first movie where they become confidants but Emily is a manipulator.
The wedding is also attended by Emily’s first husband, who in turn was directly related to Stephanie, so that’s another interesting, awkward and fun dynamic presented in the film. Among the new characters we have Emily’s fiancé, Dante Versano, played by Italian actor Michele Morrone, who we remember in the erotic saga 365 Days playing the sensual Massimo, so it was a treat to see that man in this film. Also appearing for the first time are some of Emily’s relatives, including her mom and aunt, who will expose some secrets about the bride’s mysterious life.
Lo más divertido de esta película es la química de las dos protagonistas, esa relación amigas-enemigas de las que se tienen que cuidar, pero por la que de igual manera se tiene aprecio. Su dinámica se basa en una serie de comentarios donde se usa mucho el sarcasmo y la exposición de los errores y secretos que se guardaron en el pasado, porque estas mujeres resultaron ser muy buenas amigas. Así que para entender la dinámica y las conversaciones entre Stephanie y Emily es importante ver la primera película donde ellas se vuelven confidentes pero Emily es una manipuladora.
A la boda también asiste el primer esposo de Emily, quien a su vez estuvo directamente relacionado con Stephanie, así que esa es otra dinámica interesante, incómoda y divertida que se presenta en la película. Entre los nuevos personajes tenemos al prometido de Emily, Dante Versano, interpretado por el actor italiano Michele Morrone, que recordamos en la saga erótica 365 Días encarnando al sensual Massimo, así que fue un gusto ver a ese hombre en esta película. También aparecen por primera vez unas parientes de Emily, incluyendo a su mamá y su tía, que expondrán algunos secretos sobre la misteriosa vida de la novia.
To enjoy this movie it is important to have seen the first part of the story, because that way you will understand the conversations and personalities of each character. It is a fun movie, with nice Italian landscapes and very decent updates, well not to be outdone. So if you saw the first movie, you must see this sequel; you will have fun with that touch of comedy, crime and mystery.

Para disfrutar esta película es importante haber visto la primera parte de la historia, pues de esa manera se entenderán las conversaciones y las personalidades de cada personaje. Es una película divertida, con lindos paisajes de Italia y actualizaciones muy decentes, bueno no es para menos. Así que si viste la primera película, debes ver esta secuela; te divertirás con ese toque de comedia, crimen y misterio.
