I have these photos uploaded for a while now. Not even sure for how long, as they say time is a flat circle and especially in the last few months.
I didn't really know what to write in the post, so it was just sitting here. It was an student action where they were driving from Vršac to Zrenjanin through all the villages for a protest happening the next day.
Today i had a funny and ironic though, a story that is happening, not directly connected with these specific images, but connected with the protests.
Today was a important day for all the Christians around the world. And a specific one as it was on the same day for Catholics and Orthodox Christians this year. With that in mind, here is a story.
I joked about the Simulation mix of 1986 and Monty Python but that was more of a broad connection to it. But it looks like the overlords don't have enough of scenarios so they repeat some of them with changes to fit the time :)
There are ongoing protests for 5 months now in my country. It started with protests connected to corruption that lead to a fall of a canopy at the Novi Sad train station. But student protest and blockades started after one of the 15 minutes of silence when the ruling party sent provocateurs' to the protest and ended up with attack on students and professors of Faculty of Dramatic Arts.
Students voted for blockade of the Faculty with the demand for the attackers to be arrested and prosecuted. Soon all the faculties all over the country joined with the overall demands that could be summed up into the need for institutions to work and "some animals are more equal than others" to stop.
Protests grew but were mostly ignored by the government and the party controlled media. Students were accused for staging a colored revolution, being a violent mob, being Nazis, financed by EU, USA, Russia (China somehow was never involved in anything).
All of those were interesting accusations but the one being a violent mob (even by reporters of national television) was most interesting because there were 0 incidents on student organized protests. Main thing for the student protest was it should be peaceful and they never insisted on political change, but on honest work of institutions and a mindset change in people (the institution part is a bit tricky when you live on an Animal Farm).
One of the thing students decided to do is organize big protests in University cities and big groups of them decided to Walk to those cities. So over 100 to 200km walks through all the small towns and villages so people from those places can see them, meet them and hear what the protests are all about.
As you can see people greet them with joy, offered them food and drinks. Those were people who knew no one from those groups of students, but greeted them with everything they had.

THESE 6 PHOTOS ARE NOT MINE, TAKEN FROM dunjadopsaj INSTAGRAM
Ruling party saw all of this as a direct attack on them and the current system. The change in the mindset was not greeted with opened arms by the ruling elite.
After the mostly failed character attacks on students (hard to call them violent mob financed by outside elements when all of them have fathers, mothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents friends that know them, and there are a lot of them) they moved to professors. After all kind of pressure, government decided the last month paycheck for professors should be 0.
One of the main targets was Rector of the University of Belgrade. As the biggest University in the country and because he publicly supported students. They also see him as a threat in political sense, even he never was seen as one until they made him.
And so we got to the situation happening today. On Good Friday. Rector of the University of Belgrade was called by the police and the prosecutors to give a statement in a case against him (accused of blocking the university and stopping students to attend classes).
And the a lawsuit was filed by a student close to a ruling party (allegedly payed), who is the main organizer of Students who want to learn.
Actual photos from the protest organized by students who want to learn (truth, not a joke)
To summarize, a group of people who want to change the mindset of the people by organizing gatherings, talking about problems, importance of peaceful organization, uniting people, oppressed by the ruling elite who feels threatened by the new ideas, arresting someone who they think is a leader and using his colleague to do so, on Good Friday.
There was also some indications that police could brake the student protest happening at RTS (Radio and TV Serbia, state funded TV station) for 100 hours now, luckily it didn't happen at least at the moment, because Sunday would be interesting.
Maybe someone decide to turn the simulation off 😂
