Good afternoon, adventurous friends, today I am in Sesimbra, south of Lisbon (40km) to do for the first time the trail that goes by the name: "trilho do castelo" which consists of a very short route of less than a kilometer starting from the Plaza de Sancho I to the Sesimbra Castle, in this short route we are going to learn about the landscape of the mountains that we have in the surroundings and take some photos in the Castle at more than 230 meters high.📸📍🌍

Buena tarde, amigos aventureros, hoy me encuentro en Sesimbra al sur de Lisboa (40km) para realizar por primera vez el sendero que lleva como nombre: "trilho do castelo" que consiste en una ruta muy corta con menos de un kilómetro partiendo desde la plaza de Sancho I hasta el Castillo de Sesimbra, en este corto recorrido vamos a aprender sobre el paisaje de las sierras que tenemos a los alrededores y tirarnos unas fotos en el Castillo a más de 230 metros de altura.🏔️🏰

¿Dónde comienza el sendero?🌍🚙/ ¿Where does the trail begin?🗺️

Here I leave you the coordinates of where the path to the castle begins, as I mentioned at the beginning, the route is less than 1 km starting from the statue called: Sancho I who was an important figure for Portugal, as he was the one in charge of recovering the castle when it was taken by the Moors, don't worry, there's no way to get lost, the whole path is signposted, you just have to follow the red and white paintings, it's a very fast, fun walk and suitable to do with your loved ones, it's not suitable for people with physical disabilities.📍🌍

Aquí les dejo las coordenadas de donde comienza el sendero hasta el castillo, como les mencionaba en el inicio la trayectoria es menos de 1 km arrancando desde la estatua llamada: Sancho I quien fue un personaje importante para Portugal, pues fue quien se encargó de recuperar el castillo cuando fue tomado por los Moros, no te preocupes, no hay forma de perderte, todo el camino está señalizado, solo debes ir siguiendo las pinturas rojas y blancas, es una caminata muy rápida, divertida y apta para hacerla con tus seres queridos no es apta para personas con discapacidad físicas.🏰🏔️

The trail has a picnic area, so if you'd like, you can bring food and stop. I didn't want to photograph the area too closely because it was all occupied by people, and I didn't want to disturb anyone. However, I do mention that they have barbecue grills.📍🏔️

El sendero tiene un área para realizar picnic por ello, si deseas puedes traer comida y hacer una parada, no quise fotografiar de cerca la zona porque estaba todo ocupado por personas y no quería molestar a nadie; sin embargo, te comento tienen para hacer parrillas.📸🌍

Trail description🌍🚙/ Descripción del sendero🗺️

The duration of the trail is approximately 30 minutes at a slow pace, that is, without running, it has a maximum distance of 700 meters, that is, it is a climb from the square to the top of the hill, quite short, it is linear, that is, the starting point does not coincide with the end point, so we must go and return, the minimum altitude is 102 meters, this reference is interesting because it tells us that the village where we are now is at a height, and we will reach a maximum of 223 meters, the trail is open all year round but pay attention to the castle schedule on Google Maps.🏔️📍🏰

La duración del sendero es aproximadamente 30 minutos a ritmo lento o sea sin correr, tiene una distancia máxima de 700 metros, o sea es una subida desde la plaza hasta la punta de la colina bastante corta, es lineal o sea el punto de inicio no coincide con el punto final, por ello debemos ir y volver, la altitud mínima es 102 metros esta referencia es interesante porque nos dice que la aldea donde estamos ahora se encuentra en altura, y llegaremos a un máximo de 223 metros, el sendero está abierto todo el año pero atención con el horario del castillo en google maps figura.📸🌍

The landscapes🌍🚙/ Los paisajes🗺️

The mountain range where the castle is built is called Arrabida, it has been occupied by humans since the Moorish era in the 8th century until the 11th century. There are several archaeological sites that we can visit in the area, including the following: (Nossa Senhora Consolação Church, the Sesimbra Castle Museum). Further ahead in the distance we will be able to see the city of Sesimbra, also quite popular in summer for its beaches. In fact, from here we can take some paths to the beaches.📍🏔️🏰

La sierra donde está construido el castillo se llama Arrabida, presenta una ocupación humana desde la era de los Moros en el siglo VIII hasta el siglo XI, existen varios locales arqueológicos que podemos visitar por la zona te incluyo los siguientes: (iglesia nossa senhora Consolação, el museo del castelo de sesimbra), a lo lejos más adelante vamos a poder apreciar la ciudad de Sesimbra también bastante concurrida en verano por sus playas, en realidad desde aquí podemos hacer algún camino hasta las playas.👩🏻‍🏫😁

Those mountains that are in my background are called: (Gaitero, Louro) they are quite beautiful and we have already done several trails, there is a beautiful image from the climb towards the Castle, behind those mountains we come across the Atlantic🚙🛥️

Esas montañas que están a mi fondo se llaman: (Gaitero, Louro) son bastante bonitas y ya hicimos varios senderos, allí es una imagen bonita desde la subida hacia el Castillo, detrás de las montañas esas nos topamos con el atlántico⛵🏞️🌅

A wall in sight🌍🚙/ Una muralla a la vista🏰🗺️

A casi doscientos metros de altura nos topamos con una muralla, y ya sabemos de antemano que se trata de la muralla medieval del castillo, esta muralla fue construida luego de la construcción del centro de la fortaleza, data del siglo XII y XIII luego de las conquistas del castillo a los árabes tiene una extensión de más de 2 km y rodea toda la colina, gracias a ella los árabes no pudieron recuperar de nuevo Sesimbra, tenemos acceso a ella y podemos recorrerla en todos los puntos cardinales.🗺️🚩

Inside the Castle🌍🚙/ Dentro del Castillo🏰🗺️

The trail ends here at the castle and then we take a tour of the entire area and return by the same path where we came up and there the trail ends, clearly the best of the adventure is the castle itself... And what covers its history, they have a museum that is open during the week, today being Saturday it was closed I recommend you see it to learn about this beautiful fortress that in the nineties was declared a national heritage monument.🌅😁👩🏻‍🏫

El sendero culmina aquí en el castillo y luego hacemos un recorrido por toda el área y nos devolvemos por el mismo camino donde subimos y allí acaba el sendero, claramente lo mejor de la aventura es el castillo en sí... Y lo que abarca su historia, tienen un museo que abre entre semana, hoy al ser sábado estaba cerrado te recomiendo verlo para aprender sobre esta hermosa fortaleza que en los años noventa fue declarada monumento patrimonio nacional.🏔️🌍

Tower of Homage🌍🚙/ Torre del homenaje🏰🗺️

The keep is always the highest strategic location in a castle, from the top you have a 360 degree view all around the castle, but it also serves a vital communication function to defend against future invasions, from the top where the flag is, smoke or fire signals were made that connected this castle with others in Portugal such as: Palmela, Lisbon📍🏰

La torre del homenaje es siempre el lugar estratégico más alto de un castillo, desde arriba se tiene una vista de 360 grados hacia todo el alrededor del castillo, pero también cumple una función de comunicación vital para defenderse de futuras invasiones, desde la punta donde está la bandera se hacían señales de humo o fuego que comunicaban este castillo con otros de Portugal como es: Palmela, Lisboa🚙📸

The most beautiful viewpoint🌍🚙/ El mirador más bonito🏰🗺️

This is one of the most beautiful swings in Sesimbra and is among the best in Portugal for its beauty. In the background we see the castle and the entire hill and on the left side the city of Sesimbra and even the Atlantic.🚙🌍

Este es uno de los columpios más bonitos de Sesimbra y entra entre los mejores de Portugal por su belleza, al fondo vemos el castillo y toda la colina y de lado izquierdo la ciudad de sesimbra e inclusive el atlántico📍🏰
