¡Hola amigos viajeros, feliz día! Un placer pasar nuevamente por esta linda comunidad, espero que se encuentren bien y que hayan tenido un excelente día. Les cuento que hace unos días atrás tuve la oportunidad de conocer una laguna costera ubicada en mi ciudad natal, Barranquilla.
Esta laguna costera o Ecoparque a simple vista parece solo estar rodeado de árboles o manglares, sin embargo, alberga más de 144 especies de aves, 9 especies de peces, 11 especies de mamíferos, especies de crustáceos, así como también se pueden encontrar 4 de las 5 especies de Mangle de Colombia, como el Mangle rojo (siendo este el más abundante), negro, amarillo y zaragoza. Es un ecosistema que ayuda a purificar el aire que respiramos y a demás, sirve como hábitat para proteger a algunos animales en vía de extinción (sobre todo aves), por lo que la idea de recuperarlo es una idea que emociona a la mayoría de los habitantes.

This coastal lagoon or Ecopark at first glance seems to be surrounded by trees or mangroves, however, is home to more than 144 species of birds, 9 species of fish, 11 species of mammals, species of crustaceans, as well as 4 of the 5 species of Mangrove of Colombia, as the red Mangrove (this being the most abundant), black, yellow and zaragoza. It is an ecosystem that helps to purify the air we breathe and also serves as a habitat to protect some endangered animals (especially birds), so the idea of recovering it is an idea that excites most of the inhabitants.
El día que decidimos ir la verdad es que no estaba dentro de nuestros planes, es decir, fue una decisión de último minuto por lo que la ropa no fue la más adecuada para recorrer este amplio lugar, las recomendaciones es ir con ropa cómoda tipo deportiva y zapatos cerrados, pero bueno, es una recomendación que tendremos en cuenta para la próxima visita. Una vez entramos que por cierto, la entrada es totalmente gratis, recorrimos los largos caminos llenos de manglares donde tuvimos la dicha también de escuchar el sonido de los pájaros que junto a mi suegra tratábamos de adivinar de cual provenía cada sonido, vimos algunas aves como unos lindos pájaros azules también conocidos en Colombia como ''Azulejos'', en este mismo recorrido también tuvimos la oportunidad de descubrir algunos crustáceos como el cangrejo violinista lo cual me impresionó ya que hay muchísimos y sobre todo porque tienen algo bastante particular y es que una de sus tenazas es más grande que la otra.
A mitad del camino encontramos una especie de muelle que por cierto, sirve de conexión para recorrer los otros caminos o puntos de descanso que tiene este ecoparque, aquí tuvimos la oportunidad de admirar la laguna que dicen, es una mezcla de agua dulce del río magdalena con el agua salada del mar caribe, y también pudimos observar algunas aves y peces mientras disfrutábamos del aire fresco.

Once we entered that by the way, the entrance is totally free, we walked along the long paths full of mangroves where we also had the joy of listening to the sound of the birds that together with my mother-in-law we tried to guess from which came each sound, we saw some birds like some cute blue birds also known in Colombia as ''Azulejos'', In this same tour we also had the opportunity to discover some crustaceans such as the fiddler crab which impressed me because there are so many of them and especially because they have something quite particular and that is that one of their pincers is larger than the other.
Halfway we found a kind of dock that by the way, serves as a connection to travel the other roads or rest points that has this ecopark, here we had the opportunity to admire the lagoon that they say, is a mixture of fresh water from the Magdalena River with salt water from the Caribbean Sea, and we could also see some birds and fish while enjoying the fresh air.
Pensábamos que por ser Domingo el lugar no estaría tan lleno ya que de hecho tiene bastante tiempo desde que abrió las puertas al público, sin embargo, habían bastante personas en el lugar por lo que nosotros solo fuimos a dar un pequeño paseo y admirar un poco el lugar, pero, hay muchas actividades que se pueden realizar en este ecoparque, como el turismo comunitario, avistamiento de aves, senderismo, ser pescador por un día, yoga, paseos en las pequeñas embarcaciones, viaje desde el ecoparque hasta la playa cercana llamada ''Puerto mocho'' (la cual tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar antes de nuestra visita a la laguna), también se puede realizar kayak, sembrar mangles, entre otras actividades.
Por cierto, algo en lo que pudimos fijarnos es que el lugar cuenta con bastante seguridad y también, hay personas de asistencia médica en diferentes puntos, así como también hay algunos puestos para hidratarse, tiendas donde venden comida y algunos puestos de artesanías. Es un lugar que poco a poco ha ido tomando vida y que considero es perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza, respirar aire fresco e incluso hacer una actividad diferente por si deseas alejarte un poco de la tecnología, así que estoy segura volveré pronto con ropa cómoda y dispuesta a realizar alguna de las actividades que me ofrece el ecoparque.
We thought that because it was Sunday the place would not be so crowded since in fact it has been open to the public for quite some time, however, there were quite a few people in the place so we just went for a little walk and admire the place a little, but, there are many activities that can be done in this ecopark, such as community tourism, bird watching, trekking, being a fisherman for a day, yoga, boat rides, trips from the ecopark to the nearby beach called ''Puerto mocho'' (which we had the opportunity to visit before our visit to the lagoon), kayaking, planting mangroves, among other activities.
By the way, something that we could notice is that the place has a lot of security and also, there are medical assistance people at different points, as well as some hydration stations, stores where they sell food and some craft stalls. It is a place that little by little has been taking life and I think it is perfect to connect with nature, breathe fresh air and even do a different activity if you want to get away from technology, so I am sure that soon I will return with comfortable clothes and ready to do some of the activities offered by the ecopark.
