It is times like these that I am really happy that I paid attention to all of the advice and knowledge that has been thrown my way over the past year of actively engaging on Leo. I've been on Hive for over three years now, but my time on Leo has been much shorter than that.

Through the years I had learned a fair amount about the technical aspects of crypto and blockchain, but I had yet to really dig into the financial side of it.

Then the bull market hit and things really started to get crazy around here.

I had read plenty of posts in the past about people not taking a win when they could and ultimately getting burned because of it. I am sure there are a equal number of people who took the win in 2017, you just don't hear about it as much because they are too busy off being rich...

I think we all know things have been pretty rough the past week or so. The FUD machine is in full gear. That hasn't stopped Grayscale from picking up another couple billion BTC over the past couple of days. I think it was another $20 Billion that I last saw, but I could be wrong.

As I was saying... I'm really thankful to this community for imparting the wisdom that they have over the past year or so. I've already talked about how in the last upswing I was able to take a bit of a win through some NFTs and eliminate all of my "real world" fiat debt.

It was a hard decision knowing that the markets could either keep going up (which they still may), or go down (like they currently are). There is a very good chance if I had just held on a little longer I could have gotten 2x what I was paid for my NFT sale.

The folks here taught me you can't think like that and ultimately you have to do what is best for you and take the win when you can.

Though it may have not been as much as it could have been, what I did earn relieved so much pressure on me. I wouldn't say we were living paycheck to paycheck, but it was close at times. This win brings a certain freedom to our traditional finances that I haven't experienced up until this point in my life.

No longer do I have to tell my wife we are on a "spending freeze" when she wants to purchase something. I don't feel guilty about picking up a tool or something else I might need around the house. We are finally getting some much needed home improvements done with the money that was freed up from our debt payments.

Additionally, I plan on building up our savings and finally establishing an emergency fund. Besides our mortgage, my ultimate goal is to never take out a traditional loan again in my life. I'm not entirely sure how feasible that is, but you can dream right?

So basically, this is just a long winded way of saying thank you to the community and hopefully passing along some of that valuable wisdom to others who might be stacking during this pull back.

When the time comes, don't be afraid to take the win.
