To miał być tylko krótki wypad na zakupy do miejscowego centrum handlowego. Miało być szybko, bo jechaliśmy konkretnie po buty dla żony. Niestety w żadnym ze sklepów nie było modelu, który przypadłby żonie do gustu. Wtedy zwróciłem się do Googla z pytaniem, gdzie jest najbliższy sklep firmowy New Balance. Wiedzieliśmy, że jest outlet tej marki w Roubaix, ale nie było pewności, czy tam znajdziemy model, który chciała żona. Okazało się, że jest drugi sklep NB w Lille, stąd szybka decyzja, że jedziemy do Francji.
[ENG] It was only supposed to be a short shopping trip to the local shopping centre. It was supposed to be quick, as we were specifically going to buy shoes for my wife. Unfortunately, none of the shops had a model that would appeal to my wife. I then turned to Googling to find out where the nearest New Balance brand shop was. We knew there was an outlet for the brand in Roubaix, but weren't sure if the model my wife wanted could be found there. It turned out that there was a second NB shop in Lille, hence the quick decision that we were going to France.
Oboje lubimy te miasto, dobrze się tam czujemy, ale tym razem nie było czasu na spacerowanie po urokliwym starym mieście. Skierowaliśmy się wprost to rzeczonego sklepu. Pinezka na mapie Google pokazywała punkt przy ulicy, którą wielokrotnie chodziliśmy, ja jednak nie mogłem sobie przypomnieć, żeby tam był sklep NB. Na miejscu okazało się, że to nie jest sklep firmowy, tylko niewielkie stoisko w sklepie z innymi markami sportowymi. Był tam model, który chciała żona, ale nie było jej rozmiaru. A jeżeli chodzi o buty (i ubrania) to żona jest konserwatywna, żadnego kupowania przez internet. Po drodze do samochodu trafiliśmy jeszcze na inny sklep, gdzie w końcu znalazła to czego szukała i to w swoim rozmiarze. Świat jest znów bezpieczny.
[ENG] We both like the town, we feel comfortable there, but this time there was no time to walk around the charming old town. We headed straight for the shop in question. The pin on the Google map showed a point on a street we'd walked many times, but I couldn't recall there being an NB shop there. On the spot, it turned out that it wasn't a company shop, but a small stall in a shop with other sports brands. The model my wife wanted was there, but her size was not. And when it comes to shoes (and clothes) the wife is conservative, no online buying. On the way to the car we hit yet another shop where she finally found what she was looking for and in her size. The world is safe again.
Po powrocie do Mons zebrałem się jeszcze na codzienną piątkę. Czułem zmęczenie tymi przedłużonymi zakupami, ale potrzebowałem tej odrobiny adrenaliny przed snem. Spokojne tempo biegu, fajna pogoda i chwila tylko dla siebie i swoich myśli...
[ENG] On my return to Mons, I collected myself for my daily high-five some more. I was feeling the fatigue of this extended shopping, but needed that little bit of adrenaline before bed. A easy running pace, cool weather and a moment just for myself and my thoughts....
