Good day, amazing people of Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, social media and politics.
I see social media was the voice of the people. It connects people. Since everything is advancing, our politicians also use social media for their own interests to get the hearts of the citizens. Any politician who is running an election without publishing it on social media probably will not be known by the majority of people these days, as most people are not listening to the radio, but if they publish it online, they will be well known by their voters.
It is no longer a story that social media keeps advancing every day; social media have really been helpful both in politics and in promoting businesses. In my country our politicians are playing puzzles with us. It is only during elections that they will show love to humility. When they are doing that, they will always upload their pictures online to attract votes for themselves. They keep using this method to use in the hearts of their voters.
I don’t know if it is only my country; once an election is at the corner, you will see our politicians uploading pictures. There is no politician in my country who doesn’t have a media aid; these are the people who handle their social handles. I always tell myself I don’t think there is anybody that is smarter than our politicians. They realise that the citizens are being moved by what they see. I have been able to work for some politicians who understand that social media is the biggest way to get to the hearts of the citizens.
During the last election conducted in my country, social media was so busy. Anytime I turned on my data, I saw messages about people running for elections. Social media was really used to promote politics during the last election. The majority of the youth were rooting for Peter II, so social media helps in publicity.
Social media gives the citizens the privilege to engage in the politicians posts online, put in their own contribution and air out their minds. I think social media helps the politicians to communicate with the citizens; they share their ideas with the citizens, and they also get direct replies from their voters. Social media helps politicians to influence their voters.
I think the problem of my country started the moment our politicians started using social media for their interests; they will pay some bloggers to carry their news of how they have helped millions of people. What really surprised me is that they always have picture evidence.
Has social media had any good effects?
It has really helped the citizens to have access to the politicians posts, and it helps the politicians to communicate with their voters and get to speak directly with the voters.
