Recently posted some photos from back in February when we carved some blocks of MDF to make prints with. This past Saturday we finally got to do the printmaking part, moseyed up to the Portland Museum for CeLouBrate Print.
They had a steamroller (or would it be a dieselroller?) on hand, so we just had to ink up our carvings, cover them with the cloth we were printing on and let the heavy machinery do the rest.
With ink and brayers already waiting, it was a surprisingly simple and easy process Messy too. There was a whole slew of other sorts of printmaking going on too, but I took way too many photos Saturday and I'm still trying to digest them all, so this is sticking with the steamroller.
They wouldn't let me drive the steamroller, had to content myself with watching as they ran the blocks over. Still was lots of fun.
Anyone else dabbled in using heavy machinery for making art?
