When I was young, one of the things I believed in was Santa Claus. I thought Santa used to come from America to give Africans gifts every Christmas. I always looked forward to meeting Santa Claus in my school, and Christmas time was one of the most anticipated times for me. However, as time went on, with so much evidence, I realized that it was a lie, even though it made my childhood memorable.
We have so many beliefs like that in our lives that we don’t have evidence for, and we believe them so much. When people talk about such things, we argue with them, and this is because we don’t see any evidence against our beliefs. Sometimes the evidence might be in front of us, but our beliefs have blinded our eyes not to seeing the truth. If I hadn’t seen some evidence, I would probably still believe that Santa Claus is real. Some people in Nigeria believe that Santa Claus is real.
Your beliefs can hold you back
sometimes the only thing we need to do to unlock, our potential is to change our beliefs. Most people believe that they can't be rich, and because of that, they are also finding it difficult to be rich. When you try to tell them things they can do to make good money, they see it as something too good to be true, they avoid it. Nobody is against them, and there is no force somewhere stopping them; it is just their beliefs.
Belief is crucial, and you need good evidence to change people's minds. If you can’t provide evidence it is almost impossible to change our beliefs. It is very important to be careful about things we believe because they have a great part to play in our lives. It is easy for people to convince us based on the things we’ve already believed in. Our belief can indeed be changed, but that will depend on that person. Some people are flexible and their beliefs often change, but some people are rigid. You can’t change their mind until you have extremely good evidence to do so.
Just listen
I believe the way for you to change your belief is by listening and always being ready to learn. I’m not saying that you just listen to everything you hear and believe them, but if you have listening ears with research, you realize that the truth is not always far away because beliefs play a major role in our finances and our lives. It affects our decisions. That’s why we must be careful about things we believe and we must try to be flexible and always ready to learn and change our old beliefs.
Thanks for your time.
