Here in Venezuela, it's not customary to photograph marriage proposals. I currently edit photos for a team in Mexico, where this type of service is quite common, but not here in my country. And this is one of those instances where what's not the norm actually happened.
Aquí en Venezuela no se acostumbra a tomar fotografías de la propuesta de matrimonio. Actualmente trabajo editando fotos de un equipo en MX y allí es bastante común este tipo de servicio, pero aquí en mi país no; y esta es una de esas pautas donde sucede lo que no es norma.
The groom is a mime, and he decided to propose to his now-wife in a unique way, which is why they hired us. I really love the energy of marital unions; it's something I enjoy witnessing. And this marriage proposal, even though it's not the wedding itself, is quite beautiful.
El novio es un mimo y decidió pedirle matrimonio a su ahora esposa de una forma particular y por esto nos contrataron. Me gusta mucho la energía de las uniones matrimoniales; es algo que me gusta presenciar y esta, una propuesta de matrimonio a pesar de que no es el matrimonio en sí, es bastante linda.
All the planning for something like this is quite similar to a wedding, and I think that's why it's not common here. But it's an event like any other where there are important guests for the couple, a dinner, drinks, etc. And this proposal, which was also a surprise, was quite lovely.
Toda la planificación de algo como esto es bastante similar a lo que es una boda y creo que por esto no es común aquí, pero es un evento como cualquier otro donde hay invitados importantes para los novios, una cena, bebida, etc. Y esta pedida de mano, que de paso fue sorpresa, fue bastante linda.
These kinds of stories that create such situations are powerful, and the truth is, it's a beautiful experience to have them. It's not something I've thought about much, but experiences, after all, are among the things that unite people the most, and a proposal like this must be unforgettable for those involved.
Este tipo de historias que crean estas situaciones son fuertes y la verdad es que es una linda experiencia tenerlas. No es algo sobre lo que he pensado tanto, pero las experiencias, al fin y al cabo, son de las cosas que más unen a las personas y una pedida de mano así debe ser algo inolvidable para los involucrados.
