Para los conocedores del béisbol de las grandes ligas en los Estados Unidos, es bien sabido del talento deslumbrante del jardinero venezolano de los Bravos de Atlanta Ronald Acuña Jr., y de lo que el significa para su equipo. Mas allá de todo éso, hay una situación que muy pocos han comentado, y es sobre su hermano Luis Angel Acuña, pelotero perteneciente al conjunto de los Mets de Nueva York, que si bien aún es demasiado jóven, tiene unas cualidades muy similares a la de su hermano, ha recibido oportunidades jugando en el equipo grande, pero lamentablemente no las ha aprovechado. Nadie duda de sus atributos tantos defensivos como ofensivos, pero han sido insuficientes para el manager Carlos Mendoza.

Nueva York es una plaza muy exigente, y tanto los Yankees como los Mets, equipos de la gran manzana, están llamados a siempre ganar, bueno, más se le exige a los Yankees, pero sus compañeros de ciudad, los Mets, desde hace aproximadamente dos años, han hecho una inversión monetaria muy importante, en busca del campeonato, que amerita quizás, se le exiga más a sus jugadores. Las respuestas rápidas que necesita la gerencia, y el mal momento que viven actualmente en la temporada, puede que los hayan llevado a enviar a las ligas menores a Luis Angel Acuña, que no resulta tan malo, pues a veces es necesario, debido a que allá, puede jugar un poco más, y de seguro va a corregir ciertas cosas, que a lo mejor, estaba haciendo mal.

En ocasiones resulta mas sencillo hablar de mas, para referirse al dirigente venezolano Carlos Mendoza, también compatriota de Luis Angel, para achacarle ciertas responsabilidades sobre esa desicion de enviarlo a las ligas menores, pero se olvida, que este dirigente, en ocasiones, cumple órdenes de la gerencia. Si bien el tiene la potestad de decidir cual jugador emplear y cual no en el terreno juego, sobre el recae la responsabilidad de que el equipo gane partidos, y revisando las últimas estadísticas de los Mets, han perdido varios encuentros, por mucho margen de carreras, algo que amerita tomar decisiones, entre ésas, hacer movimientos en el roster, buscando una vía de escape a ese mal momento.

Pero hay otros puntos que hay que tomar en cuenta con respecto al jugador afectado, es que quizás, sea del tipo de jugador, que merece la oportunidad, pero hay que tener un poco de paciencia y tiempo con el, éso, para verle los frutos, pero el estar en un equipo en dónde se requieren resultados rápidos, imposibilita esa acción, abriendo las puertas a un cambio, a un lugar, en dónde si le vayan a dar la oportunidad de jugar a diario como se merece. Éso ocurrió ya en el pasado con los venezolanos Wilson y William Contreras, quienes tuvieron que salir de sus conjuntos originales, para buscar tiempo de juego, cosa que finalmente lograron, y hoy en día son jugadores indiscutibles, en los Cardenales de San Luis, caso de Wilson, y los Cerveceros de Milwaukee, para William, este último, explotó de una manera bárbara en este equipo.

That already happened in the past with the Venezuelans Wilson and William Contreras, who had to leave their original teams, to seek playing time, which they finally achieved, and today they are undisputed players, in the St. Louis Cardinals, in the case of Wilson, and the Milwaukee Brewers, for William, the latter, exploded in a barbaric way in this team.

Todas estas cosas también tienen su origen en la presión mediática de los medios de comunicación, pues el hecho de ser el hermano de la super estrella ya mencionada, Ronald Acuña Jr. influye de manera significativa, ya que casi todos piensan, que hará cosas como las que su hermano ya consagrado en las grandes ligas hace, afectando el rendimiento del jugador, en hábitos del juego, poniéndole presiones emocionales extremas, que lo llevan a hacer mas de lo que puede, fallando en el intento, y causando luego frustración, no cumpliendo las altas expectativas que otros le colocan, o por momentos, las mismas, son muy altas, impactando al equipo, al manager, y porsupuesto al fanático, que es quien finalmente hace los señalamientos.

Mientras más avanzada esté la temporada, mayor es la exigencia que se le colocan a los equipos, más si son favoritos y están en carrera, si bien los Mets no están lejos del primer lugar, que por mucho tiempo ocuparon, y que ahora no tienen, se está a tiempo de retomar el buen rumbo que traían, pero éso no debe involucrar presiones mediáticas que afectan a jugadores jóvenes muy talentoso como Luis Angel Acuña, que no solamente son el futuro, sino que podrian ser la cara de esta organización, en un tiempo no muy lejano. En ocasiones ser familia de alguien muy famoso en los deportes, resulta ser algo no muy beneficioso, se debe salir de esa sombra con talento propio, o de lo contrario, siempre será mencionado gracias al apellido que otro cultivó.
