About a month ago I visited an exhibition hosted by the local gallery. It was a collection of artworks created by a group of artists from another city. None of the artists were known to me and the offer was really colorful.
You could see paintings, graphics, sculptures and all can imagine, or better yet, all you can't even imagine as there's always some style I've never seen.
I love these types of exhibitions, because the variety they offer is unimaginable and there's no danger or seeing repetitive patterns or styles, as sometimes happen at solo exhibitions.
So let's see what I want to show you today.
Dalma Nagy - Pending, Phenomenon X1
This was a strange set. I don't know exactly what these were made, zooming in to see the details, I think it's paint on paper, or marker on paper maybe?
Annamária Nagy - Workshop
I loved this from the second I saw it. It's a lovely pencil drawing on paper and it takes you back to times when teenagers (not that they knew this term back then), started life as apprentice and only after graduating, they could work in the industry.
What you see is a bookbinder's workshop. Back then it was all done manually.
Gábor Kentelki - Spring
Looking at the painting, at first I thought it's an underwater scene, but was wrong.
János Gyarmathy - Uncertain Vision.
Now tell me what you see here. I see two profiles, an egg, a lot of shell cases and all this on a big bullet. It's very complex, I must admit, with deep meaning and even though the significance is dramatic, it's a fantastic work.
Annamária Cabuz - Boudoir
It's a very abstract illustration of the subject, with lovely colors. I love the direction of the paint and brushstrokes. There's harmony between the colors as well, that's a huge plus in my eyes.

There's simplicity in art as well, or minimalist if you like. This is not criticism at all, it is how I see these metal sculptures and both are lovely. I like them both, I don't know if I would be able to choose one. What about you? Do you like this type of art? Which one would you choose?
Andrea Cabuz - Samādhi/Prayers
Samādhi (Pali and Sanskrit: समाधि), in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, is a state of meditative consciousness. In many Indian religious traditions, the cultivation of Samādhi through various meditation methods is essential for the attainment of spiritual liberation (known variously as nirvana, moksha). source
What fascinates me regarding this painting is how the light covers the peak of the mountain and then the colors at the bottom. Excellent choice.
Mária Schneller - Unexpected Presence
Lovely scene, it reminds me of the 19th century, or the beginning of the 20th, but I can't decide if the bird is seeing its own reflection in the window, or there's another bird there. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter, I like it regardless.
Gábor Kentelki - After The Storm
I hope you recognized the style. There's another artwork at the beginning of the post from Gábor Kentelki. I like colors when it comes to paintings, but if I were to choose, I'd pick the first one. This is a lovely autumn scene, but it's a bit brutal for my taste.
Ágnes Szabó Csíki - Possible Move
This is like a puzzle to me, if you want to see what the artist meant, or you can just look at it and create your story behind this nice textile art piece. It's felt on canvas if I am not mistaken.
József Baab - New York Night
This is a mystery for me and was a huge surprise. I was standing in front of it, looking at it, trying to figure out what it is or what the painter would have wanted to say with it and could not come up with a single explanation. Then I looked at the title and got even more confused. I'll leave it to you.
Éva Barabás - Family
It's a lovely scene, but not from our days. I was thinking from which century it may be from, but can't decide, so I'm asking you. What do you think?
This is it for today. I need to still mention, that I uploaded the artworks in the order I took the photos and you can see how mixed the artworks were at the exhibition. It's a very good thing in my opinion.
