Como les comenté en el post anterior, el día de las madres planifiqué con mi hijo hacer un pequeño recorrido por la orilla del Lago de Maracaibo.
Al finalizar la calle donde se encuentra mi local, está justo la playa donde se puede observar la inmensidad del lago. Nunca habia ido con mi hijo a visitar esta zona del centro de la ciudad de Cabimas hasta ahora, pues nuestras visitas siempre fueron puntuales para hacer compras y no para recrearnos.
A este espacio le llaman "Boulevard Costanero y es un largo recorrido que va casi de punta a punta con el centro de la ciudad.
As I told you in the previous post, on Mother's Day I planned with my son to take a little walk along the shore of Lake Maracaibo.
At the end of the street where my shop is located, there is the beach where you can see the immensity of the lake. I had never gone with my son to visit this area in the centre of the city of Cabimas until now, as our visits were always punctual for shopping and not for recreation.
This area is called ‘Boulevard Costanero’ and it is a long walk that goes almost from one end to the other of the city centre.
Fuimos al terminar mi jornada laboral el domingo día de las madres, me pareció un plan bien chévere y diferente para pasar este día en compañía de mi hijo.
Sé que estás actividades de excursión le hacen mucha ilusión y también que quedarán como recuerdos que atesorará para siempre en su corazón.
Cómo les digo, no es algo que hagamos normalmente y con esta es la segunda vez que está de visita en la orilla de la playa.
El lugar es hermoso hasta cierto punto y acá hace mucha brisa, lo que lo hace un lugar súper agradable para pasar al rato sin importar la hora.
We went at the end of my working day on Mother's Day Sunday, I thought it was a very cool and different plan to spend this day with my son.
I know that these excursion activities make him very excited and also that they will remain as memories that he will treasure forever in his heart.
As I say, it's not something we normally do and this is the second time he has visited the beach shore.
The place is beautiful to a certain extent and it is very breezy here, which makes it a super nice place to hang out no matter what time it is.
La misión para ese día era clara, queríamos hacer esta caminata para buscar semillas "corazón de mar" ya que en la primera visita que fue 3 días antes, él habia encontrado dos.
No teníamos ni idea de que eran, pero buscando por internet nos enteramos que son unas semillas súper especiales que se usan como amuletos.
Estás semillas pueden hacer enormes recorridos por las corrientes del mar hasta llegar a un sitio donde puedan germinar, lo que significa que existe una posibilidad que estas semillas que encontramos vengan de un sitio muy lejano.
También puede que haya una planta cerca, pero es genial pensar que provienen de miles de kilómetros de distancia y que las corrientes las trajeron para que nosotros las encontráramos.
The mission for that day was clear, we wanted to do this hike to look for "heart of the sea" seeds because on the first visit 3 days before, he had found two.
We had no idea what they were, but searching the internet we found out that they are super special seeds that are used as amulets.
These seeds can make huge journeys through the currents of the sea until they reach a place where they can germinate, which means that there is a possibility that these seeds we found come from a very distant place.
There may also be a plant nearby, but it's great to think that they come from thousands of miles away and that the currents brought them for us to find.
El Boulevard es muy lindo y agradable, pero lamentablemente tiene un nivel de contaminación enorme. Toda la orilla está llena de petróleo, producto de los derrames no controlados que ocurren en el lago desde hace años.
Caminar por la orilla es si o si llenarse de petróleo. Nosotros quedamos con los zapatos llenos.
Es triste ver cómo los animales tratan de sobrevivir en este entorno tan contaminado, las aves se posan donde pueden. Las conchas de caracol están todas negras e incluso hay zonas en dónde el daño es extremo, como la que les muestro en estas fotos. Es súper triste ver esto.
The Boulevard is very nice and pleasant, but unfortunately it is heavily polluted. The whole shore is full of oil, the result of uncontrolled spills that have been occurring in the lake for years.
To walk along the shore is to be filled with oil. We were left with our shoes full.
It is sad to see how the animals try to survive in this polluted environment, the birds perch wherever they can. The snail shells are all black and there are even areas where the damage is extreme, like the one I show you in these pictures. It is very sad to see this.
Las zonas de tierra firme están bien cuidadas, no se observa basura regada y se pueden tomar unas fotos bien chéveres.
Es un sitio con mucho potencial pero que pierde mucho por esta contaminación. No lo hace un sitio completamente apto pero si para pasar una tarde amena.
The dry land areas are well maintained, no rubbish is strewn about and there are some great photos to be taken.
It is a site with a lot of potential but it loses a lot because of this pollution. It does not make it a completely suitable place to spend a pleasant afternoon.
Ya luego decidimos regresar pues el sol estaba bien fuerte y a mi me comenzó un dolor de cabeza. Además era hora de almuerzo y ya mi cuerpo me estaba pidiendo comida jaja
Pautamos una nueva visita, esta vez con un poco más de tiempo y planificación con las comidas.
Hicimos un paseo bien lindo y si se preguntan si encontramos semillas, si. Mi hijo encontró 3, luego se las enseño ☺️.
Then we decided to go back because the sun was very strong and I had a headache. Besides, it was lunch time and my body was already asking for food haha.
We made a new visit, this time with a bit more time and planning with the meals.
We had a nice walk and if you are wondering if we found any seeds, yes, my son found 3 and then I showed them to him ☺️.
