To open the doors we need the right key, even within the crypto world we also need the right key to be able to access DApps, DeFi, crypto games, NFT, and other things that the crypto-verse offers. And although there are many keys or rather wallets that offer many things to people to interact with decentralized applications, there is one par excellence that has made the difference of what is true transparency, security, and decentralization. And the best on the market is Memtamask, the right key that opens the door to web 3.0.

In this guide, we will talk about What is metamask? How to use metamask? How to connect it to other blockchain networks?

What is metamask?

MetaMask works mainly as a web browser extension that allows you to create a cryptocurrency, token, and recently added NFT wallet for all supported blockchain networks. The main function of metamask is to allow users of decentralized applications to use this wallet in a very simple way and interact with the interface of these DApps securely. It is because of these features that MetaMask is one of the best access keys to the world of decentralized applications.

Metamask is the best wallet for decentralized applications because the code in which it was developed is the JavaScript development library known as web3.js. This code is important as it is the standard code for building applications within ethereum or other blockchains such as BSC. Also, the fact that metamask is built on this code makes it possible for MetaMask (if you have it installed in your browser) to recognize when it is in the presence of a DApp or a web app. So MetaMask recognizes in which contract it is interacting to allow the necessary transactions.

When it comes to security and privacy, MetaMask is always ahead of the curve, as it stores the keys to your wallet on your computer in encrypted form and gives you full control over the operations and conditions that can be performed between the wallet and the DApps you have connected, so no application or web app can validate contracts without your permission.

How to use metamask?

Whether you want to use it in your web browser or on your smartphone, the first thing to do is to download it, if you do it from your browser you can go to the metamask home page (https://metamask.io/) there you will click on the top right where there is a button that says Download, this will take you to a download option, keep in mind that metamask automatically recognizes your browser and will take you to your browser's app store.

Once you have downloaded and installed your wallet in your browser, you will click on start which will give you two options: 1) Import a wallet from a seed phrase (Backup) and 2) Create a new wallet. Depending on what you are looking for you can select option 1 which will ask you for your existing seed phrase to verify your identity as well as set up a new password and option 2 will give you a 12-word seed phrase that you must save very well. These 12 words are the key to accessing all the money you have, it is important to make a written or digital backup because if you lose them you will lose all your funds.

When the purse is active, 3 options appear before us: Buy, Send and Redeem. If we want to use the metamask with the ethereum network, we have to buy or deposit ether, in the option to buy we are displayed in turn 2 purchase options that are Wyre and Transak, and you have an option to deposit ether.

In the send option you can send ether or any other compatible token, to do so you enter the destination address you can scan the QR code from your phone or the camera of your computer.

And finally, we have the option to redeem where you can exchange your ETH or other tokens you have in your wallet for other tokens that are available and are compatible with ethereum.

If you have purchased a token and it does not appear available in your wallet you must add it manually by following the steps below:

Go to your wallet and at the bottom click on Import tokens. There you will get two options: search for a token by name or custom token where you can add it with the token address.

To get the contract of any coin you can go to coin market cap and you will see the address in the token characteristics, remember that some coins have contracts in different networks, so you must choose the correct one.

Then you put the address of the contract in the corresponding box and the rest of the data will appear automatically, click on add and then import and that's it.

How to connect it to the other blockchain networks?

As Metamask is compatible with different blockchain networks, but as the most popular networks at the moment are BSC and Polygon each with different parameters. To configure any network you have to click on ethereum Main Network:

There you will see a menu of different networks, to add a new one you must click on Perzonalized RPC:

To configure it for the BSC you must put these data in the corresponding boxes:

Network name: Binance Smart Chain New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/ ChainID: 56 Symbol: BNB Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com

And if you want to add the polygon network you must add the following data in the corresponding boxes:

Network name: Polygon New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com ChainID: 137 Symbol: MATIC Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com

After the network has been correctly configured you will see the following:

I hope this guide about Metamask Wallet has been useful for you, Metamask is the best option to start in the crypto world and creating an account and configuring it is also easy. In Leofinance is necessary to have Metamask because some of the most important projects like Cub finance or the next PolyCUB you will need Metamask to participate.
