So on the weekends, when I’m not bass fishing, I usually try to get stuff done that I’ve put off that week. And this weekend I got something done that had been pestering me all summer, and another thing that taught me a thing or two about apple products.
First up, let’s talk about what I did on Saturday. Early last week I had a package come in. A package filled with 7 iPads and 3 iPhones. I bought this bundle off of Ebay with the hopes of restoring and selling them for a profit. They were advertised as untested, but I was still a bit skeptical. But for only $170 CAD ( with shipping), I decided to bite the bullet and buy them.

Soy un chico de campo hogareño. La única vez que normalmente “salgo” es una vez cada dos semanas para ir a la ciudad a hacer compras y visitar a mi familia. Y, sinceramente, no lo haría de otra manera. La vida en el campo es la vida para mí.
Entonces, los fines de semana, cuando no estoy pescando lubinas, normalmente trato de hacer las cosas que pospuse esa semana. Y este fin de semana hice algo que me había estado molestando durante todo el verano, y otra cosa que me enseñó un par de cosas sobre los productos de la manzana.
Primero, hablemos de lo que hice el sábado. A principios de la semana pasada recibí un paquete. Un paquete lleno de 7 iPads y 3 iPhones. Compré este paquete en Ebay con la esperanza de restaurarlo y venderlo para obtener ganancias. Se anunciaron como no probados, pero todavía estaba un poco escéptico. Pero por sólo $170 CAD (con envío), decidí hacer el esfuerzo y comprarlos.
I had no doubt that a few of these would be locked. When it comes to Apple products, I don’t have a lot of technical expertise, so I took this project on as a learning opportunity. Back in the day I remembered that you could essentially remove a lock on Iphone by jailbreaking it so I thought it was still like this. But I was wrong.
I was only able to test 4 Ipads, and the 3 iphones as I don’t have an older charger for the other ipads, I’ll pick that up later this week. 2 Ipads had activation locks on them… and they’re now impossible to remove. I was able to bypass them with a program that involved jail breaking the iPad but as soon as the iPad gets shut off the jailbreak is removed and the lock is back on. The same happened with the Iphones.

So for those 2 Ipads I’ll just use them around the house and when the time comes use them for parts for other Ipads.
One of the Ipads is completely broken, but out of all the ones I tested, I’ve got one working one!
It’s an Ipad Mini 2 and works the way it should work. My niece has been wanting an Ipad for a while so I plan on giving this one to her, but in the mean time I’ll use it for myself!

The other 3 I’m hoping work, or are at least in fixable condition, as my mother unintentionally promised one to one of my other nieces and I also have a friend who wants to buy one. But I guess I’ll find out later this week if they work or not!
The other thing I did this weekend is something that had been pestering me all summer. And that was to clean up by my Goat/chicken pen. Over the summer, we had a lot of visitors, whether it was my nieces and nephews, one of my brothers, or my aunt, so the yard is in sort of a mess. And in front of our pen was no different.
![Spanish]Espero que los otros 3 funcionen, o al menos estén en condiciones reparables, ya que mi madre sin querer le prometió uno a una de mis otras sobrinas y también tengo un amigo que quiere comprar uno. ¡Pero supongo que a finales de esta semana descubriré si funcionan o no!
La otra cosa que hice este fin de semana es algo que me había estado molestando durante todo el verano. Y eso fue para limpiar mi corral de cabras/pollos. Durante el verano, tuvimos muchas visitas, ya fueran mis sobrinos y sobrinas, uno de mis hermanos o mi tía, por lo que el jardín está hecho un desastre. Y frente a nuestro corral no fue diferente.
Now I could say that the mess is because of them, but the truth be told, with everything going on, none of us really had time nor the energy to clean up the yard. But seeing as summer is over and fall is coming fast, I decided to take up the task before it starts snowing.
This may not look like a lot, but it took me an hour or so to do and a bit of lifting. Luckily a few months ago we had a separate run built for some meat birds that we harvested Friday ( that itself was an experience for a first timer) and with no plans of buying anymore until next spring I decided that I would set everything up in that and use it as a temporary storage area.
![Spanish]Ahora podría decir que el desorden es por culpa de ellos, pero la verdad es que, con todo lo que está pasando, ninguno de nosotros tuvo tiempo ni energía para limpiar el jardín. Pero como el verano ha terminado y el otoño se acerca rápidamente, decidí emprender la tarea antes de que empiece a nevar.
Puede que esto no parezca mucho, pero me tomó aproximadamente una hora hacerlo y levantar un poco. Afortunadamente, hace unos meses construimos un corral separado para algunas aves de carne que cosechamos el viernes (lo que en sí mismo fue una experiencia para un principiante) y como no tenía planes de comprar más hasta la próxima primavera, decidí que instalaría todo en ese lugar. y utilizarlo como área de almacenamiento temporal.
I also had to lay some sand and shavings down. The last heavy rain we had all but mudified the entrance to the pen so I took some of the sand we had, laid it down over the mud and put some shavings down in the hope of soaking up some more of the water and so far it has worked.

My weekend was nothing glorious, but a weekend when you get something done is better than a weekend where you got nothing done!
