Hace poquito en mi viaje de este año a Amazonas aprendí varias cosas que honestamente siento que solo pude aprender por cómo surgieron las cosas. En mi edad adulta aprendí que las mejores maneras de gastar tu dinero siempre será, ayudando a otros, instruyendote y viajando. Pero de estas tres cuando viajas tienes la oportunidad de conseguirlas todas.
Es cierto que en un viaje conoces nuevos lugares y observas paisajes hermosos que te permiten apreciar la belleza de la naturaleza y también a su Creador, pero más allá de eso los viajes te ayudan a aprender un poquito más de la cultura de otras personas, sus luchas, sus carencias pero principalmente y es lo que más me quedó a mi, su resiliencia y el deseo de esforzarse por continuar por muy difícil que sea.

Just recently on my trip this year to Amazonas I learned several things that I honestly feel I could only learn because of how things came about. In my adulthood I learned that the best ways to spend your money will always be, helping others, educating yourself and traveling. But of these three when you travel you have the opportunity to get them all.It is true that in a trip you get to know new places and observe beautiful landscapes that allow you to appreciate the beauty of nature and also its Creator, but beyond that travel helps you learn a little more about the culture of other people, their struggles, their shortcomings but mainly, and this is what stayed with me the most, their resilience and the desire to strive to continue no matter how difficult it may be.
En mi viaje conocimos una comunidad indígena llamada Platanillal relativamente cerca al pueblo, conocí un poco más sobre su cultura y situaciones por las que están pasando. Por ejemplo, sabemos que en el país se está haciendo complicado conseguir los medios económicos para alimentarnos como deberíamos, de hecho debido a lo complicado que es conseguir el dinero completo para algo ahora existe la opción de comprarlo en cuotas mediante apps.
Pero para una comunidad remota, la cual debe caminar prácticamente todo el día para poder llegar al pueblo, cuya cultura es resolver y vivir de la naturaleza, la vida es un poco más difícil. Mientras conversaba con una señora de la comunidad me contaba que el verano había sido tan fuerte que sembrar no había sido una opción para estos meses, el río baja debido al calor también, lo que hace complejo conseguir el agua, ya que hay que caminar más o bajar piedras muy grandes para llegar al río.

On my trip we met an indigenous community called Platanillal relatively close to town, I learned a little more about their culture and situations they are going through. For example, we know that in the country it is becoming complicated to get the economic means to feed ourselves as we should, in fact due to how complicated it is to get the full money for something now there is the option to buy it in installments through apps.But for a remote community, which has to walk practically all day to get to town, whose culture is to solve and live off nature, life is a little more difficult. While talking to a lady from the community she told me that the summer had been so strong that planting had not been an option for these months, the river goes down due to the heat as well, which makes it complex to get water, as you have to walk more or go down very large stones to get to the river.
Aun así, pese a las dificultades y las preocupaciones, siguen esforzándose por resolver con lo que tienen y hacer algo con lo poco que pueden, en su caso tenía la ventaja de haber tenido un saco de mañoco (harina de yuca) para vender, y con eso en lugar de venderlo se alimento a ella y a su familia, que igual que todas las familias Jivis, es grande y llena de niños.
Lo que más me sorprendió es que en cada hogar que viditabamos nos ofrecían un poco de yucuta (una bebida a base de mañoco y agua) para refrescarnos debido al calor intenso, es decir, que aún cuando tenían poco y estaban limitados por circunstancias ajenas a ellos, aún así compartían de lo poco que tenían con nosotros, nos escuchaban y hablaban con nosotros como si siempre nos hubieran conocido.

In her case, she had the advantage of having a sack of mañoco (cassava flour) to sell, and with that instead of selling it, she fed herself and her family, which like all Jivi families, is large and full of children.What surprised me the most is that in every home we visited they offered us some yucuta (a drink made of mañoco and water) to refresh us due to the intense heat, that is, even when they had little and were limited by circumstances beyond their control, they still shared what little they had with us, they listened to us and talked to us as if they had always known us.
Hay cosas de la cultura de los Jivis que no les gusta a los criollos qué les conocen, sin embargo, yo me quedo con lo bueno que tienen y con lo mucho que me enseñaron sin necesidad de palabras, solo con acciones que les salían de manera natural, como su hospitalidad y su resiliencia. Y aunque nosotros también estábamos limitados en muchos sentidos, la verdad es que esa actitud y hospitalidad solo motivan en uno cosas positivas así que ayudamos cuanto pudimos.
Hay personas que por ser de una etnia indígena o por vivir lejos de "la civilización*, son despreciadas, se aprovechan de ellos o incluso sufren injusticias y abusos por la inocencia de su corazón. Pero la verdad es que en muchos sentidos estas personas son maestros, porque nos enseñan a valorar lo esencial, cuidar aquello que realmente nos beneficia como lo es la naturaleza, y vivir de ella con respeto y sin lastimar a nadie.

There are things about the culture of the Jivis that the Creoles don't like what they know, however, I keep the good things they have and how much they taught me without the need for words, only with actions that came naturally to them, such as their hospitality and resilience. And although we were also limited in many ways, the truth is that this attitude and hospitality only motivates positive things in you, so we helped as much as we could.There are people who, because they are of an indigenous ethnicity or live far from "civilization*, are despised, taken advantage of or even suffer injustice and abuse because of the innocence of their heart. Esas son cosas que no siempre una persona que nació en la ciudad llena de civilización, y avances tecnológicos posee, por eso, amé conocerlos y vivir esta experiencia en la que vi por mi misma, cuanto puede enriquecer un viaje aun cuando te quedes sin dinero al regresar, porque lo que aprender es tan valioso y causa tanto bienestar en ti que el dinero se queda corto. De la vida, la experiencia y las cualidades de otras personas se puede aprender y en este caso ¡qué manera más bonita de aprender!
