It may seem that the last week of the year didn't have many memorable events worth mentioning in the weekly recap but that would be a wrong assumption. Last week was as busy as it gets.

Famous People Buy Digital Monkeys

Eminem is no stranger to NFTs, as he dropped his own collection in 2021 and one of those NFTs has a bid of $100k which isn't too shabby. He recently acquired ape #9055 for a bit over $400k.

Metis Airdrops Are Coming

If you were looking for non-VC-funded rollups and weren't able to find any that's no coincidence. Metis DAO is probably the only one in the market with very little exposure due to the lack of VC marketing money. The rollup settles transactions almost instantly and Netswap will be rewarding users and liquidity providers soon.

More information can be found here but I highly recommend trying Metis out regardless of the airdrop. Transaction speed and ease of use are just perfect.

More Ragnarok Info

So much information has been released about Ragnarok last week but if you want a very short TLDR here it is: The game is coming out on testnet first and the test period will probably take a full year. Gameplay combines Chess, Texas Hold'em Poker, and 1v1 turn-based combat. The airdrop details are not set in stone and are yet to be confirmed and finalized. From the available info, it seems that in some cases having only 15 HP will be enough to get one NFT but that number can change to 150 as well.

If you want a deep dive into the game check out Ragnarok: Deckbuilding Poker Chess and Ragnarok Speculation from @edicted. There is also an AMA article where you can find even more information.

New Projects Coming To Fantom

Andre Cronje is considered one of the giga brains in the DeFi movement. He played a big part in the creation of Curve, Keep3r finance, and many other projects in the space. His latest announcement hints at something completely new on Fantom so it will probably be good to stay updated on this one.

Saylor Does It Again

While others are panic selling Microstrategy keeps scooping the dips. Chrismas shopping was in full swing this year as the company acquired another 1914 BTC at an average price of $49,229. They just can't help themselves at this point.

Blockbuster DAO

After Constitution DAO failed to deliver on its mission there is another emerging organization that wants to buy out Blockbuster and turn it into a decentralized movie streaming service. Should be fun to stay updated on these developments.

Gamestop NFT Project Update

Gamestop has been working on an NFT marketplace ever since the company gained worldwide popularity during the Reddit short squeeze events of 2021.

Everyone's favorite used video game retailer is making headway into the NFT space. GameStop's foray into NFTs may be beginning very soon.

Justin Sun Keeps Dumping ETH

The last story of the week comes from a Reddit post that tracked down Justin Sun and his financial moves in crypto. According to the post he has been selling over 160k Ethereum tokens on Binance.

In case you want to know how his portfolio looks like, here is a link to his DeBank page.

Edit: After further input from Dave Chapell's spokesperson it has been confirmed that Dave DID NOT purchase a bored ape NFT and the article is edited to reflect this update. More info in the comments.
