I would be terrified if I encountered, haha! Let alone the thought of the big ocean. Well, anyone would be terrified! It is better if it waits in the deep trenches! Hehe! But, design-wise, I realized that everything about this creature is about the sea. 😃 From the fin ears to the tails~ I really like this dragon, hehe.
- base color and initial shading
I just copied the color from the original art.
- Adding the shine to the skin and shadows. I chose an initial color for the background, somewhere in between blue and green. And then, I manually drew some rocks. I downloaded seaweed and bubble brushes for the extra details.
Final Art
Finally, adding the back lighting, applying a darker multiply-mask, and some nuance textures.
Now, finally adding the details.
