Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 165, Edition 01 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “DIVORCE”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “HEALTHY TAX”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on the government imposing taxes on goods that were deemed dangerous for people in the long run, driving their prices up so that people would be less inclined to buy them. For goods like sugar, alcohol, cigarettes, and the like, such an act could seem like the right move for the good of the people.
However, we got to see that many didn’t support the notion. While some believed that it was a good plan that would definitely work, many felt that it would only bring about chaos and make the economy suffer a major hit. And there were those who were skeptical, because starting such a move could very well lead to something else that no one else could have imagined.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w164e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
HEALTHY TAX? SUPER TAX ON ITEMS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH, DO YOU AGREE WITH THAT? by @shiftrox
This author told us that while it sounded like a good idea for harmful products to be heavily taxed, he didn’t support it. He couldn’t bring himself to support anything that would limit the freedom of anyone. Instead, the government would be better off educating the masses on the dangers of such products and convincing them to stay off them for their own good.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE by @ladyaryastark
For this author, she fully supports the idea of imposing a tax on products that are harmful to the health of consumers. Prevention is better than cure, and for many, the cost of buying these products is nothing compared to the amount they get to spend when treating the subsequent illnesses that arise from consumption. It would be a great improvement for the people.
THE HEALTHY TAX: A PRICE WORTH PAYING FOR BETTER LIVING @princessbusayo
For this author, she also thinks it’s a good idea. The revenue gotten from this health tax would go a long way in funding health-oriented campaigns. However, seeing as a lot of petty traders involved in selling these products would be affected by this, the government would have to introduce alternatives so that such traders can keep having a source of livelihood.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions which are listed below:
THE PRICE OF CHEAP FOOD AND THE FREEDOM THAT MAKES US SICK by @xlety
DEATH TAXES, AND THE COST OF CHOICE by @terganftp
IS A HEALTHIER SOCIETY WORTH A HIGHER PRICE TAG by @nhaji01
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional as well.
DIVORCE
“We all know how heartbreaking divorce can be because of its effects on the partners involved and the children from such a union. However, when it comes to the trauma children from divorced homes will face, should it be compared to the mental well-being of the parent seeking a divorce? Which one comes first?”
