Downsizing from a large property is a daunting task, but as my son said, Mom, you have to start early. He knows from experience. When they decided to emigrate, they thought they had plenty of time. But we all know how time has a way of running away with us!
The first step was doing a stock take, next deciding what to keep, give away, and what to sell.
The most daunting was the thought of sifting through all the memories - photos, letters, cards. And the books, which I have enough of to start a library. I have piles of these memories with names attached, cannot keep it all!
I have been a busy bee!

How does it feel?
Freeing, and way 'lighter'.
I've not been happy with the agents selling my home; I told them we need to get a professional photographer. I stupidly gave them a sole mandate, but that's coming to an end this month. I've lived in this home since the day I got married, so this is the first time I'm selling property - my excuse for not listening to my instinct.
The brother of a long-time friend, does real estate photography and came down for a family wedding.
Naturally, being the Father of the Bride, he brought his photography gear along. I knew he had a tight schedule, and getting him to do it was impossible, so I did not even ask.
Josh called me early on Tuesday:
Lizzie, you and Bonginkosi are going to be busy today.
What do you mean? I asked
My brother is coming to do a photo shoot, you only have a couple of hours to do some magic.
What! A dream come true, as I know him and trust him. The agents weren't listening.
Fortunately I keep my home spick and span, and had already removed dated sentimental decor items and moved the layout of some rooms. The photographer assured me he would do the final touches.
What an insightful and lovely afternoon. He gave me some good tips on how to move forward with the pending sale.
Also pointed out that it's all for the good, as I could very well have made a hasty decision on where to go, as I've changed my mind again. Will let you know all about that.

What is Hive Power Up Day and why do we power up?
@hivebuzz has been encouraging Hivers to power up on the first day of every month, and this is what they say:
- The first reason is to have fun and get a badge!
- Strengthen your influence on the blockchain with stronger votes on content, proposals and witnesses.
- Earn more curation rewards. The more Hive Power you have, the more you can potentially earn back
- Earn "interest" by holding Hive Power. You will also earn HIVE passively at about 3% per year of what you currently have powered up so the more HIVE you have, the more you can earn from just holding!
- Finally, several amazing members are offering prizes that include delegations, Hive giveaways, and other cool stuff to the Hive PUD participants.
My Power Up
Bookings were at an all-time low in February and March, but is picking up again, so I was able to power up 250 Hive Power today, taking me to 27,189 HP.
For the first time in a long while, I am excited, and look forward to the future again with my pending move.
