As school year 2024–2025 is already finished, my friends and I agreed to go jogging because we're now free. Apparently, there must be three of us, but one of our friends wasn't able to join us because she wasn't well. So my cousin and I agreed that we would just go together.
Hello everyone! This is @lorene08 sharing my very first experience as someone who is generally lazy, but was asked to go jogging.
We agreed to meet at precisely 4:30 AM. But honestly, I woke up an hour earlier than that, most likely because I was really hyped since it was my first time. And guess what? I woke up at 3:00 AM! HAHAHAHA. I just waited until 4:20 AM, then began sending messages to my cousin. But she didn't wake up at 4:30 HAHAHAHA😭 she overslept and woke up at 5:10 instead. But I get it and it's fine since 5:00 AM is still a good time to jog.
Once she responded to my message, I put on my jogging attire and filled my tumbler with water. As her house is right in front of ours, it did not take long for us to gather. I also chose to put on my shoes at her place because the ground around our house is extremely muddy. Once we changed, we began with some walking.
I was enjoying myself because the street we were strolling on was peaceful and refreshing, just all green. We began jogging when we felt our bodies were conditioned enough. Even if it did not take 30 minutes, I was already sweating (I'm that kind of person who easily sweats HAHAHA). I began to take photographs while walking since the scenery was so refreshing to the eyes. I really love looking around when it comes to nature.
Our first day jog plan was to keep close to our barangay. We didn't want to surprise our bodies with a long route. So, I thought of jogging from our home to Casa del Mar, a beach resort in our barangay.
Actually, it was a good decision because the beach is quite far and the road to get there is rocky, which was like a mini-hike for us. The sun was already rising then, so it was already hot, but it was worth it because the scenery was so beautiful and refreshing (especially the morning breeze). We rested for 5 minutes to appreciate the view, then we decided to go home.
Going back, there was this really steep road, and I chose to run to the top. And guess what? When I arrived, I was so tired and sweating a lot, it was like I used all my energy! HAHAHAHA. Then after that, we just had some random chit-chats while walking since we were almost at my cousin’s house. Then we took a picture as a memory of Day 1.
"It only takes one step to break free from comfort—and sometimes, that step leads you to peaceful roads and golden sunrises." Being the kind of person who prefers sleeping in bed, I never thought that I would be able to like jogging. But that first step, despite not knowing and being lazy, led me to a quiet, green, and lovely place. It wasn't exercise alone, it was how I could get in touch with nature and be alive. I learned that sometimes, you have to leave your comfort zone and find simple but significant moments.
Thank you everyone! Stay healthy and active!!🏃♀️💨
