This artwork is inspired by one of the characters from @holozing — a universe full of creativity, magic, and community spirit. A big hello to the entire @holozing family! I feel incredibly excited to be part of this world and to contribute with my own interpretation of one of their characters.
For this post, I decided to create an anime-style fan art of the male Ocean Healer. I was immediately drawn to his serene yet mysterious aura. There’s something powerful in the idea of a healer who channels the essence of the ocean — gentle yet fierce, calm yet unpredictable. His presence feels elegant and strong, like the tide that heals with every wave. Working on this character was a wonderful experience. It allowed me to dive into a theme I deeply enjoy: the mystical and the gothic.

Para este post, decidí realizar un fan art del Ocean Healer masculino al estilo anime. Me atrajo de inmediato su aura serena pero misteriosa. Hay algo poderoso en la idea de un sanador que canaliza la esencia del océano: suave pero imponente, tranquilo pero impredecible. Su presencia transmite elegancia y fuerza, como la marea que sana con cada ola. Trabajar en este personaje fue una experiencia maravillosa. Me permitió explorar un tema que disfruto profundamente: lo místico y lo gótico.
The Ocean Healer is depicted with vibrant, spiked blue hair that resembles ocean waves at dusk. His expression is calm yet commanding, as if he knows the wisdom of the tides. I adorned his forehead with small seashell and starfish accessories to reflect his oceanic nature and give him a more enchanting, elemental vibe. His eyes glow with a bluish shine, reminiscent of deep waters, and his entire appearance gives the feeling of being in a cathedral under the sea.
His outfit is elegant and dark, leaning into gothic aesthetics with intricate silver patterns woven across his coat. The coat has a high collar and a deep blue lining, symbolizing both nobility and depth. On his chest and shoulder, there's a glowing emblem resembling a moon within a wave — a symbol of healing and flow. Everything about his design aims to express his magical, calming energy, while also making him look like a powerful protector of the ocean realm.
El Ocean Healer está representado con un vibrante cabello azul en picos que recuerda a las olas del mar al atardecer. Su expresión es serena pero imponente, como si conociera la sabiduría de las mareas. Adorné su frente con pequeñas conchas y estrellas de mar para reflejar su conexión con el océano y darle un toque más encantador y elemental. Sus ojos brillan con un resplandor azulado, evocando las aguas profundas, y su apariencia en general da la sensación de estar en una catedral bajo el mar.
Su vestimenta es elegante y oscura, con una estética gótica acentuada por patrones plateados que recorren su abrigo. El abrigo tiene un cuello alto y un forro azul profundo, simbolizando nobleza y profundidad. En su pecho y hombro lleva un emblema brillante que parece una luna dentro de una ola, un símbolo de sanación y fluidez. Todo en su diseño busca expresar su energía mágica y calmante, y al mismo tiempo hacerlo lucir como un protector poderoso del reino oceánico.
Process / Proceso
As with all my digital pieces, this artwork started with a sketch. I always begin by capturing the silhouette and flow of the character to establish a strong pose and personality. This first step is where I allow my creativity to flow freely — I let the character guide my hand as I explore proportions, angles, and the overall vibe.
Once I was satisfied with the composition, I moved on to the linework. I used clean, defined strokes to shape the details, focusing on sharp edges for the hair and soft curves for the clothing to contrast his powerful energy with his healing nature.
Next came the coloring stage. I carefully selected shades of deep blues and aquamarines to enhance the oceanic theme. I wanted the colors to feel alive — not flat — so I worked in subtle variations, especially in the hair and eyes, to add richness and movement.
After laying down the base colors, I added the shadows. This is always one of my favorite parts, where the artwork truly begins to take form. I used a mix of soft and hard shadows to give volume to the face, folds to the clothing, and depth to the background elements.
Highlights came next, adding that final spark of life. The pendant, the eyes, and the accessories received a touch of glow, making them look like they're charged with magical energy. The hair also got a few bright streaks to enhance its texture and motion.
Finally, I created the background. I imagined a majestic, cathedral-like setting under the sea, with glowing lights and stained glass windows that mimic underwater reflections. This final stage helped tie the whole composition together, immersing the character in a world that feels both sacred and mysterious.
Como todas mis obras digitales, esta pieza comenzó con un boceto. Siempre empiezo capturando la silueta y el flujo del personaje para establecer una pose fuerte y una personalidad clara. En esta primera etapa dejo que la creatividad fluya libremente, permito que el personaje guíe mi mano mientras exploro proporciones, ángulos y sensaciones generales.
Una vez satisfecha con la composición, pasé al delineado. Utilicé trazos limpios y definidos para marcar los detalles, enfocándome en bordes afilados para el cabello y curvas suaves para la ropa, buscando contrastar su energía poderosa con su naturaleza sanadora.
Luego llegó el momento del color. Elegí cuidadosamente tonalidades de azules profundos y aguamarinas para resaltar el tema oceánico. Quería que los colores se sintieran vivos, no planos, así que trabajé con variaciones sutiles, especialmente en el cabello y los ojos, para dar riqueza y movimiento.
Después de aplicar los colores base, añadí las sombras. Esta es siempre una de mis partes favoritas, donde la obra realmente empieza a tomar forma. Usé una mezcla de sombras suaves y duras para dar volumen al rostro, pliegues a la ropa y profundidad a los elementos del fondo.
Los brillos vinieron después, añadiendo esa chispa final de vida. El colgante, los ojos y los accesorios recibieron un toque de luz que los hace parecer cargados de energía mágica. El cabello también recibió algunos destellos brillantes para resaltar su textura y movimiento.
Finalmente, creé el fondo. Imaginé un entorno majestuoso, como una catedral bajo el mar, con luces resplandecientes y vitrales que imitan los reflejos del agua. Esta etapa final ayudó a unir toda la composición, sumergiendo al personaje en un mundo que se siente sagrado y misterioso.
Creating this piece was a meaningful journey. It’s not just the sixth and final character of this gothic-themed healer collection I’ve been working on for @acidyo’s art initiative — it’s also a personal milestone. I pushed myself to blend fantasy, symbolism, and style in a way that honors the character and the world he belongs to.
Crear esta pieza fue un viaje muy significativo. No solo es el sexto y último personaje de esta colección de sanadores con estética gótica que he estado desarrollando como parte de la iniciativa artística de @acidyo, sino que también representa un logro personal. Me esforcé por fusionar fantasía, simbolismo y estilo de una manera que honre al personaje y al mundo al que pertenece.
