Recientemente en unas materias de la universidad (Teoría de la función y la Técnica, Y Taller de Diseño) tuvimos la tarea de hacer un póster en representación de un género musical. Se supone que en TFT debíamos elaborar la idea, en un papel como si fuera un dibujo y hacerlo con formas, no con elementos tan literales. Y en Taller de Diseño la idea era pasar ese dibujo a lo digital utilizando Adobe illustrator. La verdad no tarde demasiado haciendo esto, se podría decir que unos sólidos 3 días.

Recently in some college subjects (Theory of Function and Technique, and Design Workshop) we had the task of making a poster representing a musical genre. In TFT we were supposed to elaborate the idea, on a paper as if it were a drawing and do it with shapes, not with such literal elements. And in Taller de Diseño the idea was to transfer that drawing to digital using Adobe illustrator. The truth is that it didn't take too long to do this, I could say that it took about 3 solid days.

A mi me toco el genero musical Jazz, uno que no me gusta ni que escucho nunca, pero que si me recordó a algunas series que había visto antes y tomé eso como inspiración para poder elaborar ese diseño. Ese póster una vez que fue digamos que aprobado tuvimos que sacarlo en un papel especial estilo fotográfico y lo expusimos en clases. Nuestro profesor llevó a un especialista en Música para que pudiera evaluar desde una perspectiva de afuera si los pósters se parecían a los géneros musicales correspondientes. La verdad es que yo sentía que lo mío está bastante acertado y me sentía muy segura de mí misma.

I was drawn to the Jazz music genre, one that I don't like or ever listen to, but it did remind me of some series I had seen before and I took that as inspiration to be able to elaborate that design. That poster once it was approved we had to take it out on a special photographic style paper and we exhibited it in class. Our professor brought in a music specialist so that he could evaluate from an outside perspective if the posters resembled the corresponding musical genres. The truth is that I felt that mine was pretty accurate and I felt very self-confident.

Pero no todo terminó en esa pequeña evaluación ya que como al profesor le había gustado mucho las exposiciones y también había invitado. Nos hicieron la propuesta de llevar esos afiches a un bar de la ciudad llamado Vizcaya. La verdad es que la actividad era en la noche y se supone que tenemos que ir todos a llevar nuestros afiches, pegarlos en el lugar y compartir un rato. A mí la verdad ese lugar no me gusta pero estuve asistiendo durante un rato simplemente para cumplir con la actividad.. algunas de las chicas que estudian conmigo estuvieron presentando a todos en la actividad de los afiches y finalmente estuvimos ahí durante un buen rato. La verdad es que yo estoy super contenta con el resultado de mi afiche y aunque la actividad no es de mi completo agrado si puedo decir que asistí un rato. But not everything ended with that little evaluation, since the professor had liked the exhibitions very much and had also invited us. They made us the proposal to take those posters to a bar in the city called Vizcaya. The truth is that the activity was at night and we were all supposed to go there to take our posters, paste them in the place and share some time. I don't really like that place but I was there for a while just to fulfill the activity... some of the girls that study with me were introducing everyone in the poster activity and finally we were there for a good time. The truth is that I am super happy with the result of my poster and although the activity is not of my complete liking I can say that I attended for a while. I hope you loved it, see you soon!
