Today I'm back with a new set of street photographs that I took around the city of San Cristobal, in Tachira, Venezuela.
The first photos I'll show you were taken in a busy area of the city. I parked my car in a safe place and started walking around looking for interesting things to photograph...
The first thing I saw was a man checking his car engine, apparently it had some kind of failure and wouldn't start:
Hoy estoy de vuelta con un nuevo set de fotografias callejeras que tomé alrededor de la ciudad de San Cristobal, en Tachira, Venezuela.
Las primeras fotos que les mostraré fueron tomadas en un area concurrida de la ciudad, estacioné mi carro en un lugar seguro y puse a caminar buscando cosas interesantes para fotografriar...
Lo primero que ví fue un señor chequeando el motor de su carro, aparentemente tenia alguna falla y no queria encender:
I saw a boy doing stunts with his bicycle in the middle of the street. What I like most about this photo is that there's another bicycle in the background:
Vi a un chico haciendo acrobacias con su bicicleta en medio de la calle, lo que mas me gusta de esta foto es que hay otra bicicleta al fondo:
I kept walking and saw a hot dog stand. Here in Venezuela it's a very popular business since it's a very cheap option for people:
Seguí caminando y ví un puesto de perro calientes, aqui en venezuela es un negocio muy popular ya que es una opcion muy barata para las personas:
I saw this store and it seemed very pretty to me, so I took a photo of it:
Ví esta tienda y me parecio muy bonita asi que le tomé una foto:
The next photo is of a worker. What made me take this photo was that the truck was almost empty...
La siguiente foto es de un trabajador, lo que me hizo tomar esta foto fué que el camion estaba casi vacio...
I kept walking and arrived at this very well-known street in my city. It's almost "the heart" of the city and I liked how it looked at that moment:
Seguí caminando y llegue a esta calle muy conocida en mi ciudad, es casi "el corazon" de la ciudad y me gustó como se veia en ese momento:
I looked to the side and took the following photo. I liked that it looks quite full of life and quite urban:
Miré hacia un lado y tome la siguiente foto, me gustó que se ve bastante llena de vida y bastante urbana:
This part of the city is very busy, so I wanted to capture that in the photo. I like seeing the city so full of people.
Esta parte de la ciudad es muy concurrida asi que quise plasmar eso en la foto, me gusta ver la ciudad tan llena de personas.
After taking the previous photos, I decided to go to another part of the city to look for variety in the photos. I was accompanied by a friend, so he was driving and I took the opportunity to take some photos along the way...
In the first two photos I took, I liked the lighting of the scene. They almost look like they're from a movie:
Luego de hacer las fotos anteriores decidí ir a otro lado de la ciudad para buscar variedad en las fotos, estaba acompañado por un amigo asi que el iba manejando y yo aproveché la oportunidad para tomar unas fotos en el camino...
En las primeras dos fotos que tome, me gustó la iluminacion de la escena, casi parecen salidas de una pelicula:

In Venezuela we have problems getting gasoline, so it's very common to see people taking gasoline out of their cars to store it or even to sell it:
En Venezuela tenemos problemas para conseguir gasoliana asi que es muy comun ver personas sacandole gasolinas a sus carros para guardarla o incluso para venderla:
On another side of the city I saw a couple of old cars:
En otro lado de la ciudad vi un par de carros antiguos:
The next photo was a failed shot but I liked it:
La siguiente foto fué un disparo fallido pero me gustó
The next photo is called "The World of Liquor" and all those people you see there are university students celebrating their last year of study. In Venezuela it's common for them to do something called "viernes de promo" (promo Fridays) and literally every Friday they go out to drink liquor...
La siguiente foto se llama "El mundo del licor" y todos esas personas que ven allí son estudiantes universitarios celebrando su ultimo año de estudio, en Venezuela es comun que hagan algo llamado "viernes de promo" y literalmente todos los viernes salen a beber licor...
