Algunas veces pasan cosas raras
y esta es realmente extraña,
es un pájaro que no vuela nada,
por eso en un burro anda,
es una relación complicada.
El burro al ave desplaza,
pero esto no es todo lo que pasa,
cuando el pájaro sobre él anda,
lo protege sin temor a nada,
de los depredadores que por ahí pasan.
Sometimes strange things happen
and this one is really strange,
it's a bird that doesn't fly at all,
that's why it rides on a donkey,
it's a complicated relationship.
The donkey displaces the bird,
but this is not all that happens,
when the bird walks on it,
it protects it without fear of anything,
from the predators that pass by.
Un día en su andar,
a nuevas tierras llegan este par,
entre las rocas algo se ve brotar,
parece un gusano de verde tonalidad
y el ave se detiene a explorar.
Debe defender al burro,
por eso al gusano sujeta duro,
descubre que es un ajo maluco,
con olor feo, nauseabundo
y que se siente solo en este mundo.
One day in their journey,
to new lands this pair arrives,
among the rocks something is seen to sprout,
it looks like a green worm.
and the bird stops to explore.
It must defend the donkey,
so the worm holds on tight,
it discovers that it is a bad garlic,
with an ugly, nauseating smell
and that he feels alone in this world.
El ave en el burro se va
y el ajo siente más soledad,
por su olor nadie lo quiere aceptar
y él solo quiere una amistad,
que lo haga sentir normal.
Cuando el burro y el ave regresan,
le traen una sorpresa,
una mariposa sin olfato y bella,
que quiere ser su compañera
y sobre el ajo la dejan.
The bird on the donkey leaves
and the garlic feels more loneliness,
because of his smell no one wants to accept him
and he only wants a friendship
that makes him feel normal.
When the donkey and the bird return, they bring him a surprise,
a beautiful butterfly with no sense of smell,
who wants to be his companion
and they leave it on the garlic.
Así nace la amistad,
con quien te quiera aceptar,
un ave, un burro llenos de lealtad,
un ajo y una mariposa amigos de verdad
todos distintos con nobleza sin igual.
This is how friendship is born,
with whoever wants to accept you,
a bird, a donkey full of loyalty,
a garlic and a butterfly real friends
all different with unparalleled nobility.
