I know I said not that long ago that I wasn't actively onboarding people to Hive. Honestly, I felt like I wasn’t ready for the responsibility. But, like with many things in life, I seem to have changed my mind.
As a matter of fact, I’m back to talking to people every day about this place—about this blockchain—and about the endless possibilities it offers. Our little box of Legos, the building blocks for amazing ideas to thrive, is so powerful that it’s criminal more people don’t know about it.
Not even a week ago, I was listening on Twitter/X to @crimsonclad hosting an event with the @digibytecoin folks. As she began sharing the story, I was amazed to realize just how little people know about us. I can’t help but feel that if other communities truly understood what Hive offers—how they can bring their people here and synergize—this place would become the home base for the crypto world. I feel this in my gut, almost in the same way we instinctively gravitate toward bodies of water.
I believe Hive can become an oasis—an oasis of freedom. A place where people own their data and command their own future. Almost every day, I’m having conversations with friends on this platform. The themes might change, but the constant is that we all allow ourselves to dream—to look into a future we can forge together.
And you know, it’s not really about making millions of dollars, or selling people the false notion that they can show up here and suddenly be rich. It’s about showing them how they’ve been “working for free” all along—and never gave it a second thought.
In the coming days, I’m hoping to onboard some local business owners. With a little patience and a guiding hand, maybe I can find some allies among my friends and acquaintances in this town—and truly inject some needed chaos into the system. Maybe even turn a few into rebellious digital nomads.
When I do, I hope you’ll help me welcome them and make them feel at home.
As you can tell, I’m feeling pretty inspired today. It’s Mother’s Day, after all—and I have the best mother I could’ve asked for. So I guess you could say I’m breathing in some hopium and optimism this morning, all brought on by a deep sense of gratitude.
Much love,
MenO
