I have never seen such amazing things of beauty as the beautiful Laaw Lagoon of Kinatarcan Island.
Kinatarcan also known as Guintacan, is an island of the province of Cebu in the Philippines. It lies about 25 kilometres (16miles) off the west coast of Cebu and 12 Kilometers (7miles) northwest of Bantayan Island. The island is within the municipality of Santa Fe
THE AMAZING BEAUTY OF LAAW LAGOON
LAAW LAGOON is a crystal green salty water surrounded by beautiful rock formations and many trees that give fresh air and bring charm to the Lagon. High tide, is a good time for swimming it is good for body exercise to become healthy. For those tourists who cannot swim, you can ride the bamboo raft to go around the lagoon for free and you can enjoy the beauty of nature and the very fresh air that is good for our bodies most especially for the lungs. The lagoon is abundant with edible seaweeds called sea grapes (locally named Lato) you can eat the seaweeds as you want inside the area. But it is not allowed to bring the seaweeds or sea grapes outside the lagoon.

SAFETY TIPS IN GOING TO LAAW LAGOON:
• Be sure that your body is in good condition.
• Have a trail guide or tour guide that will bring you exactly to Laaw Lagoon.
• Used rubber shoes to avoid foot injury.
• Don't forget to bring drinking water to avoid your body of dehydration.
• Bring food maybe you will get hungry during your sharp trail.
• Bring a cooling towel to dry your body from sweat.
• Bring umbrella
• Don't separate from the group to avoid losing.
Before you reach the lagoon area you will experience the sharp uphill and downhill trail. A hike duration of about 15-20 minutes starts from the entrance point.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF HIKING TO OUR BODY
• Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout.
• Hiking offers psychological benefits.
• Being outside in the sunshine provides them with vitamin C.
• For those with type 2 diabetes, hiking can reduce, even eliminate, your need for insulin.
HOW TO GET THERE?
From the Cebu City North bus terminal, you get a public bus going to Daanbantayan. Make sure that you get the correct bus to Daanbantayan.
Note:
In the North bus terminal, you can see bus signage of DAANBANTAYAN and BANTAYAN it is the different distanation between the two places.
The bus ticket fare ranges from about 250 pesos or 4.39US dollars. From the North bus terminal to Daanbantayan it is about 3 to 4 hours of travel.
From Daanbantayan pier. There is a passenger boat going to Kinatarcan Island. You will pay 100 pesos or 1.76 US dollars per person. The trip is about 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on weather conditions.
When you are in Kinatarcan Island you will find a (habal-habal) is the local name in the Philippines for motorcycles. You say to (habal-habal) or motorcycle driver to bring you in Laaw Laggon. Habal-habal is the way of transportation in Kinatarcan. You will pay 75 pesos or 1.32US dollars.
