Good morning hivers and happy Easter to those who celebrate it, today I will celebrate with my parents because my husband is at work, but yesterday he was free and we took advantage of it to participate in a Puglia festival, my husband is originally from Puglia and when we can and find events dedicated to his region of origin we always go, Puglia is a region rich in many things including a cuisine rich in traditional dishes! In Pistoia for this Easter weekend there is a festival dedicated to Puglia specialties.

As soon as we arrived you immediately breathe a southern Italian atmosphere already from the parking lot we could hear the popular Puglia songs and approaching the festival it was a riot of delicious smells. Today even these festivals have modernized in fact in addition to at the cash register it was possible to pay and order by scanning the QR code to avoid the queues. Each stall had its own specialty, one was dedicated to grilled meat and meat dishes, another to desserts, one to the typical Calabrese focaccia with mozzarella and tomato and pepper, one to first courses among which the orecchiette with turnip tops typical of Puglia stood out, another dedicated to the Puccia, a soft sandwich filled with meat or tomatoes and mozzarella or vegetables and obviously the Panzerotti, a kind of fried dough filled with mozzarella and tomato!

The stalls were also very beautiful, made in the shape of a trullo, the typical traditional houses of Puglia, music, the smell of food and folklore, this is the atmosphere that you could breathe. We were very undecided about what to order but in the end we decided to opt for one of the typical dishes suitable for eating as street food, the panzerotto, stuffed with mozzarella and stringy tomato. A real delight and also very large, we had lunch there! To drink, obviously, Raffo beer, a beer from Puglia! It was a really pleasant day and it was a shame not to have an infinite stomach because we would have liked to try everything!
