Hello everyone. Today I'm gonna talk about Tasoshi Drakamoto.

I like the card. It 8 mana for 3 magic damage and we've seen that being good enough to see a ton of play, with the right abilities, with Arcane Skinwalker. For that reason, we must compare the two, although they certainly fulfill different roles. Their stats are very similar: Skinwalker has +2 armor and -1 speed. Both have Inspire which makes them really nice in mixed melee and magic teams with Lorkus. Skinwalker also has Silence, making it a must in magic battles. Camouflage is decent but it has lost utility over the years with different ways to combat it. And it has Shapeshift which allows it to go from good to amazing when played with Bloodline Tribute. It also benefits from all of the Archon's bloodline abilities and it will only get better when the legendary Archons enter the game. Meanwhile, Tasoshi has Sneak, Stun, and Spite. I feel like Spite is pretty meh on this card. It won't have the same impact it has on Oridum Graybrow. Sneak on a magic unit is very nice and it combines well with Stun. Skinwalker is neutral while Tasoshi is Fire so Skinwalker can be played much more often.

Is the card good? Yes. Would I play it over Skinwalker if I had to choose one? Probably not that often. It's possible to play both, though. You can also compare it to Captain Fellblade, another 8 mana magic unit with Sneak. Tasoshi looks better than the Captain.

I won't be buying it. Why? My budget isn't infinite and since I already have Skinwalker, I don't think it will have that much use. Another card that I can compare it to is Kelan Gaines, which also costs 8 mana and has 3 magic attack. And it's also a voucher card. In terms of number of Vouchers Kelan Gaines costed exactly the same for a max copy. The thing is that Kelan Gaines is an amazing card, no doubt better than Tasoshi. It pushed Voucher prices up and it made Tasoshi more expensive, at least for now. The biggest advantage Tasoshi has is that it belongs to Conclave Arcana, so it will stay in Modern for longer. And I guess for Kelan you need max level for the most important ability: Double Strike. Level 5 Tasoshi is certainly playable and maybe even 4.

So, should you buy it? Yes, if your budget allows it. Otherwise I would concentrate on other cards.
