Hello there.
I found a lot of free games to share. They might not be AAA games, but they have a wide variety, and hopefully you can find one that you like.
Knightfall: A Daring Journey
Do you like horses? How about racing? How about drifting horses? If that last question piqued your interest, then you might want to give Knightfall: A Daring Journey, a chance. It is an Indie game released in 2022 that takes an interesting twist to the Battle Royale genre. Yep, it has horses, racing, drifting, and battle royale in one. I have seen some gameplay of it and it is wild.
Up to 28 players with teams of 2 are trying to reach the castle to get a rose before any of the other teams do. Teams start in different areas will pass by towns along the way. Here they can find weapons to help them in their goals. Of course other teams can also go to these towns. That is where the racing comes in. Those able to get into towns early can get the best loot, and lie in wait for enemies. Do note that at night, it is freezing outside the towns and players will take damage. So there can be forced battles in these towns when night falls.

I think it is an interesting and fun take to the old battle royale genre. For those concerned about the playerbase, I checked and there are 454 online as I was writing this, so not too bad. The game just became free last June 18, so there is no deadline to get it. But if you want to experience the gameplay, now might be the best time to play since there are a lot of players. You can get it in Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1911390/Knightfall_A_Daring_Journey/.
Freshly Frosted
Do you like puzzle games? How about satisfying and sequential games? Do you like donuts [who doesn't, am I right]? Since everyone likes donuts, you should definitely try Freshly Frosted. It is an Indie Puzzle game released in 2022. Your job is to create an efficient system that makes donuts. Think of it like a setting up your own donut factory, and everything is automated. You are provided with bare donuts, and it is your job to set up your machines to add the frosting and any other flavors to create the needed donut.
In the example below, you are given a regular brown/chocolate donut. They set it up so that the pink glaze is added, then the sprinkles, then the white frosting, and finally the red heart topping to finish it all off. It looks very satisfying once you finally set it all up and watch it work. A word of warning though, I found myself craving donuts after just watching some of the gameplay.

If you want to torture yourself and make yourself drool, you can get the game in the Epic Game Store until June 27. You can go directly by clicking this link: https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/freshly-frosted-c636d0.
Shadows: Awakening
Do you like dungeon crawling games? How about RPG? Maybe add some real time tactical combat? If you like games similar to Diablo games, you might want to try Shadows: Awakening. Released in 2018, it is an action RPG reminiscent of Diablo games. Since it was released around 6 years ago, the PC requirements are not that high, and should be good for older rigs.
One of their cool gimmicks that I haven't seen much in other games, is that you can switch between two different realms; the Shadow Realm and the mortal plane. This is where the real time tactical combat comes into play. There are different enemies and strategies involved, and you need to switch and make use of both realms in the game. There are enemies and puzzles that are only visible in the Shadow Realm, but they can damage you in the mortal plane.

I find the switching of realms to be interesting. There is some replayability because you can choose from 3 heroes, each with their own story and quests. If you want to try the game out for yourself, you can get it from GOG. It is available for only 2 more days, so get it quick and decide if you want to play it later. You can click this link to go to the game page:https://www.gog.com/en/game/shadows_awakening. What's cool about GOG is that their games are DRM free, so you don't need to activate anything, and you can play the games offline, and on different devices.
I hope you like some of these games and try them out. They're not AAA games, and the two are even Indie, but I think their concept are fun. If you don't like them, at least they're free. Happy gaming.
