Quién no se levantó temprano alguna vez, miró por la ventana y dijo, “está todo blanco afuera, me tapo de nuevo y chau”. Bien, justamente de eso es lo que quiero hablar el día de hoy.
! [English]Who hasn't woken up early, looked out the window and said, "it's all white outside, I'll cover up again and bye bye ". Well, that's exactly what I want to talk about today.

Creo que en el año 2007, nevo en Ezeiza y desde esa fecha, nunca más. Y con esto del cambio climático y el calentamiento global, pensé que jamás volvería a ver los pastos blancos. Cuando anuncian en Argentina una ola polar y a pesar de que soy más del verano, siempre intento buscarle la vuelta a la situación para poder disfrutarlo y es así que me propuse salir a entrenar bien temprano y enfrentar al crudo frío del invierno argentino.
! [English] I think that in 2007, it snowed in Ezeiza and since then, never again. And with this climate change and global warming, I thought I would never see white grass again. When they announce a polar wave in Argentina and even though I'm more of a summer person, I always try to find a way to enjoy it and that's why I decided to go out early to train and face the harsh cold of the Argentinean winter.

Con el pasto totalmente blanco de escarcha y el termómetro marcando unos hermosos -4c° aproximadamente, nos armamos de coraje y más aún con una maratón encima, congelamos las excusas y salimos a trotar.
! [English] With the grass completely white with frost and the thermometer reading a beautiful -4c° approximately, we took courage and even more so with a marathon on top of us, we froze our excuses and went for a jog.

Entrenar con frío es duro, pero es parte de la aventura. El camino hacia la maratón no es todo solcito y días ideales. Hay días que el cuerpo pesa, que la cama te atrapa y que los huesos crujen antes de arrancar. Pero esos entrenamientos a bajas temperaturas son los que más te forjan, no solo físicamente sino también mentalmente. Te curtís y te haces más fuerte y sobre todo aprendes a bancarte el mal clima, porque eso después, se nota en la carrera.
! [English] Training in the cold is tough, but it's part of the adventure. The road to the marathon is not all sunshine and ideal days. There are days when your body feels heavy, when the bed traps you and your bones creak before you even start. But those training sessions at low temperatures are the ones that forge you the most, not only physically but also mentally. You get tougher and stronger and above all you learn to endure the bad weather, because later it shows in the race.

Como lo tomo como un desafío y aventura, es que quizás no me pesa tanto. Porque sé que lo hago solamente por única vez (quizás), pero si debo hacerlo todos los días, es otro cantar. Al principio cuesta y los primeros metros te sentís con las manos heladas, la nariz congelada y parece que las piernas no te responden. Pero después y cuando el cuerpo va entrando en calor, te das cuenta de que la mente rompió esa barrera y que el frío quedó atrás y qué estás haciendo lo que otros quizás no se animan y tiene que ver con sumar kilómetros, aunque el clima diga lo contrario.
! [English] Since I take it as a challenge and adventure, maybe it doesn't weigh so much on me. Because I know I only do it once (maybe), but if I have to do it every day, it's a different story. At the beginning it's hard and the first few meters you feel like your hands are freezing, your nose is frozen and your legs don't seem to respond. But later and when the body warms up, you realize that the mind broke that barrier and that the cold is behind and that you are doing what others may not dare to do and it has to do with adding kilometers, even if the weather says otherwise.

Intento buscar aventuras en el proceso y ojo, que no todo es sacrificio y sufrimiento. Salir a entrenar con frío también tiene su magia, ya que los paisajes se ven distintos, el pasto blanco parece de película y sabes que esos días suman a la historia personal que vas escribiendo, camino a la maratón 2025 de Buenos Aires.
! [English]I try to look for adventures in the process and be aware that not everything is sacrifice and suffering. Going out to train in the cold also has its magic, since the landscapes look different, the white grass looks like a movie and you know that those days add to the personal story that you are writing, on the way to the 2025 Buenos Aires marathon.
