These past days have felt like a horror story for me. My computer had a failure that I thought I wouldn’t be able to fix, but in the end, it’s still alive… at least for now.
I was playing Arenas in Albion with my friends and out of nowhere, the typical and horrible blue screen appeared. I assumed it was just a simple error and that turning the computer off and on again would fix it. Everything seemed to go back to normal, I joined Discord and when I said: “Guys, I got the blue screen,” the nightmare returned out of nowhere. The next time I turned it on, it just wouldn’t get past the startup.
I thought that formatting everything would bring things back to normal, so I prepared my USB to boot, and everything seemed fine until I got another blue screen right in the middle of the Windows installation. I tried all day, several times, but I couldn’t fix it. The AI gave me possible failures and solutions, but it was like when your head hurts and you look it up on Google, you basically end up thinking the worst, because a simple headache can be a symptom of the worst disease according to the internet.
To rule out a defective component, I took everything apart and tested piece by piece, but then it didn’t even want to read my operating systems. The live OS from USB also wouldn’t work, which I found very strange. In the end, I’m writing this from my PC that came back to life out of nowhere, although I don’t rule out that it might fail again at any moment. I just hope it lasts long enough.
Taking advantage of the fact that my PC is working, I’ve been able to play a lot of 7 Days to Die with the guys and also Albion, although I’m a bit scared to play again after what happened.
Today I was testing the new update and the implementation of the new “orange zone,” a zone that’s not full loot. If you die, you only lose what’s in your inventory and your equipment gets a bit damaged, but you don’t lose it.
You can go chill, do some PvE, and have a good laugh with your friends. The best part is you don’t need expensive gear to win, although everyone chooses how they want to gear up.
I like that to access this new zone you have to go through a rift that takes you to the depths. There, you have quick access to content that used to be tedious to do, like group Hellgates. Before, you had to buy a Hellgate map and then go through several maps looking for the dungeon, which took way too much time. With this new update, you just talk to an NPC and you’re in, no need to run around the entire map.
I played several matches with a spear I had never used before, and honestly, I loved it. Then we realized the combination wasn’t that effective: we had a lot of damage, but not enough sustain. So I switched to playing as a Healer.
When you kill an enemy in this new zone, you have the chance to steal their soul. The funny thing is they can insult you and the text appears floating over the soul, which I thought was a nice touch. Then you can give that soul to any creature in the depths and it rewards you with chests. Obviously, the content of the chest depends on your luck.
I also liked that if an ally dies, you can take their soul and revive them at an altar. The bad part is that if you stay too long, the fire ends up consuming you, and if you can’t find the exit, you can lose everything you got.
After that, we went roaming for a bit because a friend joined and we were no longer three. Honestly, we did pretty well during that little roaming session. I might bring more content about this new zone. I think it’s perfect for testing builds and combinations to dominate in small scale fights, kind of like Arena. There’s hardly any risk since you don’t lose your stuff, and it’s not bad for PvE either. Honestly, the Albion team is doing a great job. That’s all for now. See you in the next one, my boomers.

¡Hola mi gente linda!
Estos días han sido como una historia de terror para mí. Mi computadora tuvo una falla que creí que no podría resolver, pero al final sigue viva... al menos por ahora.
Estaba jugando Arenas en Albion con mis amigos y de la nada apareció la típica y horrible pantalla azul. Supuse que era un simple error y que con solo apagar y encender la computadora se solucionaría. Todo pareció volver a la normalidad, entré a Discord y cuando dije: "Muchachos, me apareció la pantalla azul", de la nada volvió la pesadilla. La siguiente vez que la encendí simplemente no pasó del inicio.
Creí que formateando todo volvería a la normalidad, así que preparé mi USB para bootear y todo parecía ir bien, hasta que en plena instalación de Windows volvió el pantallazo azul. Lo intenté todo el día varias veces, pero no lograba solucionarlo. La IA me daba posibles fallas y sus soluciones, pero era como cuando te duele la cabeza y lo buscas en Google, básicamente terminas pensando lo peor, ya que un simple dolor de cabeza puede ser síntoma de la peor enfermedad según internet.
Para descartar que fuese algún componente defectuoso, desarmé todo y fui probando uno por uno, pero luego ni siquiera quería leer mis sistemas operativos. Tampoco funcionaba el sistema operativo live desde USB, lo cual me pareció muy extraño. Al final estoy escribiendo esto desde mi PC que revivió de la nada, aunque no descarto que en cualquier momento vuelva a fallar. Solo espero que me dure lo suficiente.
Aprovechando que mi PC está bien, he podido jugar bastante 7 Days to Die con los muchachos y también Albion, aunque me da un poco de miedo volver a jugar después de lo que pasó.
Hoy estuve probando la nueva actualización y la implementación de la nueva "zona naranja", una zona que no es full loot. Si mueres, solo pierdes lo que tengas en el inventario y tu equipamiento se deteriora un poco, pero no lo pierdes.
Puedes ir tranquilo, hacer PvE y echarte unas risas con tus amigos. Lo mejor es que no necesitas llevar equipo caro para ganar, aunque cada quien decide cómo vestirse.
Me gusta que para acceder a esta nueva zona tengas que cruzar una grieta que te lleva a las profundidades. Allí tienes acceso rápido a contenido que antes era tedioso de hacer, como las Hellgates en equipo. Antes tenías que comprar un mapa de Hellgate y luego recorrer varios mapas hasta encontrar la mazmorra, lo cual quitaba muchísimo tiempo. Con esta nueva actualización solo hablas con un NPC y ya estás dentro, sin tener que corretear por todo el mapa.
Jugué varias partidas con una lanza que nunca había usado y, la verdad, me encantó. Luego nos dimos cuenta de que la combinación no era tan efectiva: teníamos mucho daño, pero poco aguante. Así que decidí pasarme a Healer.
Cuando matas a un enemigo en esta nueva zona, tienes la posibilidad de robar su alma. Lo gracioso es que pueden insultarte y el texto aparece flotando sobre el alma, me pareció un buen toque. Luego puedes entregarle esa alma a cualquier criatura de las profundidades y te recompensa con cofres. Obviamente el contenido del cofre dependerá de tu suerte.
También me gustó que si matan a un aliado puedas tomar su alma y revivirlo yendo hasta un altar. Lo malo es que si te quedas durante mucho tiempo el fuego termina consumiéndote, y si no encuentras la salida puedes perder todo lo que hayas conseguido.
Después fuimos a pasear un rato porque llegó un amigo y ya no éramos tres. La verdad nos fue bastante bien en el pequeño roaming. Puede que traiga más contenido sobre esta nueva zona, me parece ideal para probar builds y combinaciones para dominar en combates a pequeña escala, casi como Arena. Apenas hay riesgo, ya que no pierdes tus cosas, y para hacer PvE tampoco está mal. La verdad es que la gente de Albion lo está haciendo genial. Sin más, nos vemos en la siguiente, mis boomers.
