Hello and welcome back to my blog!
In the last post on Elden Ring, I talked about finding both halves of the Dectus Medallion, which combined to form a medallion that activated the Lift of Dectus, and it took me to a new place called the Altus Plateau.
There were new enemies to kill, more ingredients like plants and flowers to collect and a lot of area to explore. This is like a whole new dimension, golden hued sky and surface. In front of me was a massive structure with huge statues and a lot of enemies guarding the gateway.
I decided to roam around in the open before going towards this seemingly dangerous place.
I saw another finger reader, or should I say finger sniffer? LOL, she gives us an indication of what to expect next. To the east are ruins of gold (talking about that massive structure) and to the west, a serpent's sacrilege (not sure what that meant). Hitting her has become a custom for me, so I did exactly that and, like she always does, cursed me again. She has no clue that I am cursed like five times already lol.
Just next to her was a site of grace and a portal. These portals teleport you anywhere. As far as I understand, you can only visit some places through this portal, so I went there. It teleported me not far from there.
But soon, I was killed by some villagers who got too mad at me. I underestimated their strengths.
I didn't lose many runes, so I decided to go east and see what that big structure holds. How can I not...right? The big erdtree seemed to be inside it.
I hopped on my horse and ran past all the enemies; I didn't care much about them. They were standing on the stairs that take you towards the big gate.
Two Tree Sentinels were guarding the door. Thankfully, the door was slightly open for me to just ignore them, or I would have never made it past two of those bosses. I don't think I can even get through one of them in a fair fight lol.
They seemed pretty mad though, killed me once but I safely made it next time. Once you touch the lost grace you are safe. The best part was the two Golden Seeds on that golden tree. It was worth it. Now, I could have one more flask.
I found a map inside, telling me the name of this location. We're in Leyndell, the Royal Capital. Damn, this seems very important. Is our journey of becoming the Elden Lord coming to an end? Doesn't feel like it yet. But this surely is a milestone.
This place has experienced some massive battles, it seems. So much destruction, weapons and craters everywhere. And more Golden Seeds! Wow! This place is loaded with Golden Seeds.
We reached the capital outskirts and there was a gate that takes you out from this side. The only gate which seemed to take you towards the inner circle is blocked shut.
Look at the size of these massive gates!
Not far from here was an old shack with a merchant selling a note which seems to talk about some secret entry into the sewers below the capital. I keep buying documents like these and forget to find those places.
He was selling some other unique items like Perfume bottles. I have no clue what will these be used to craft. It says for crafting perfumes but this is the first time I am hearing about perfumes in this game.
I restocked my arrows and some other items. Sold all my Golden runes and levelled up my Strength twice. I have to get more powerful for this capital city.
There are so many beautiful structures in this game. They are always teasing us with those and not letting the curiosity die. I always wonder if I will be able to recognise those structures when I am there. They might be so massive that I won't even realise that I saw the same thing from a distance.
Looks like I found a tough boss and this one is not even skippable. I was just saying that the Tree Sentinel is tough for me to beat. Meet the Draconic Tree Sentinel.
The normal tree sentinels are nothing in front of him. At least they had no range attacks, but this guy has a tough flame attack, and if you get lucky enough to take his health down, he will electrocute the hell out of you. I knew this was time to take a break. Possibly a break from going inside and going to a different place. He killed me a lot of times with ease.
I am getting closer to the base of the Erdtree, but there are still major challenges awaiting, like this powerful boss. I will try to get back and go out to explore all the places I have missed. There are a lot of areas yet to be explored in the Altus Plateau.
Until next time...
