Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Binding of The Binding of Isaac has a lot of bosses, ranging from "Mom", who you encounter very early in the game, to someone like "Mega Satan", which is considered an endgame boss. There is a boss progression system in the game where fighting and defeating a particular type of boss can unlock more bosses further down the road. It's also linked with how many bosses you've defeated.

When I first started playing the game, bosses like Mom felt tough and challenging, but now I'm fighting "Mega Satan" fairly regularly. In one of my best runs, I found a couple of new bosses: "Isaac" and "???". This was one of the luckiest runs I had. It was all possible because of an active item I got called Teleporter 2.0, which lets you teleport to an uncleared room. Once you clear all the normal rooms and the boss room on the floor, using it will take you to secret rooms, super secret rooms, and even the "I am Error" room, which is very rare, in my opinion.

But this single item cannot work effectively alone; you need a passive item which reveals all the floor layout so you know all the secret rooms and only the super secret and Devil/Angel rooms are left before you use it. Also, it helps if you can find a lot of batteries on the floor so you can use it at the end.

That's how I got most of the Angel/Devil rooms + secret rooms on the floor. All of those rooms, with their powerful items, made me very powerful.

I don't recall how exactly I reached this new floor called Cathedral. There was a beam of light after defeating a boss, and when I touched it, that took me to this new floor. This was the first time I reached here, and I was surprised to find the boss "Isaac".

Why is Isaac there, and did I have the choice not to fight? I don't know. I started hitting him, but he didn't hit me for a while, and I felt a bit bad. Then he got mad and started hitting back. That makes me wonder if it was a normal start of the fight with this boss, or if I had another choice at the start.

I had a lot of defensive items that were not allowing me to take much damage. He had no chance against my multi-way beams. Azazel deals a lot of damage if you ignore the fact that his beams are very short-range. I was delaying the fight a bit to see what type of attacks he had. There were two major attacks: one is when Isaac shoots tears in all directions around him (you can just get away and save yourself from this attack), and the other one, where white beams of light come, might be a bit harder to dodge because it takes up the whole arena.

???

In the same run, I found another unique boss which I had never seen before. This one doesn't even have a name lol.

Is it one of the characters that I haven't yet unlocked? It looked like Isaac, but with a bluish color. The fight started similar to the Isaac fight. He was lying on the ground in his own pool of tears. You can get a lot of hits before he wakes up.

His tear pattern was a bit more interesting. They spiraled after leaving him, and sometimes he shot tears directly at you while spawning two flies. I had the item to charm any flying enemies, so that wasn't a problem. Even though this fight was a bit more interesting, it was still very easy for my build. If I wanted, I could have defeated it in 5 seconds, but I was stalling to see all his attacks.

Mega Satan

This run ended with MegaSatan as the final boss. I love the Entry of MegaSatan. The fight starts when you step up on the pentagram in the boss arena, it fills up with red color and activates. There you see the final boss Mega Satan appearing on the top of the arena.

This is a long fight, even with all of my attacking strength, it took me some time to take him down. It spawns some mini-bosses in the arena, and until you defeat them, you cannot hurt Satan.

He seems so desperate that he even takes help from Angels in this fight lol. Bro has no values.

And when you think you have defeated him, there is another phase!

In this second phase, he becomes so mad that he starts throwing flames at you. It feels like he has a lot of health in this second phase too.

But it turns out, if you have looted all the items from the secret rooms in the last 6 floors, you will not have a tough time defeating it.

It was such a cool end to this impressive run. I don't know if I will ever be able to replicate such a run. Getting these many rare rooms and bosses in the same run felt so good.

I know there are a lot more secrets hidden in this game. I will be uncovering them slowly but surely.

Until next time...
