A few days ago I celebrated my birthday and I had not had the opportunity to share it with you, whom I consider part of my family. This time I decided to do something different than usual, although a cake was waiting for me at home, we got together for lunch.
Because little Alma was the special guest, and therefore we had to watch her diet, the choice was to eat grilled chicken, being the place selected the Hiper Galerias shopping mall. The feast was very intimate, I was accompanied by my mother, my father, my husband and the little girl. Once in the store we gathered around a table, the only one available for everyone was located next to the fruit section.
At first Alma's joy was evident, she thought the peaches were free, but when it was explained to her that she could not eat them without paying for them, her face changed. It was only when she saw the two chickens, and their outlines, on the table that her smile returned.
Celebrating life is a special occasion to get together and thank God for being together. I avoided facing a larger celebration because preparing and serving food, indulging in various musical tastes and toasts, plus being there to chat with all the guests, and cleaning up at the end, was no longer an attractive idea to enjoy my birthday.
At this stage of my life, I consider it more important to value family togetherness. Conversing amidst funny anecdotes and seeing Alma having a good time with her grandparents, both at lunch and walking around the mall and its surroundings. At home, the ceremony of singing "Happy Birthday" together, then cutting the cake, also provoked a lot of laughter, as Alma blew out the candle several times, applauding her mischief. She also wanted to savor the cream 😋.
Although it was customary to make the cake as a family, as I indicated previously, I opted to buy one to my liking: chocolate with strawberries, whipped cream and sponge cake, to avoid investing so much time. Everyone was pleased with my choice, even the little one, who ate some strawberries. We had a great time and ate delicious food.
Hace pocos días atrás celebré mi cumpleaños y no había tenido la ocasión de compartirlo con ustedes, a quienes considero parte de mi familia. Esta vez decidí hacer algo distinto a lo habitual, si bien me esperaba una torta en mi casa, nos reunimos para almorzar.
Debido a que la pequeña Alma era la invitada especial, y por lo tanto había que cuidar su dieta, la elección fue ir a comer pollo en brasas, siendo el lugar seleccionado el centro comercial Hiper Galerías. El agasajo fue muy íntimo, me acompañaron mi madre, mi padre, mi esposo y la niña. Una vez en el local nos reunimos es torno a una mesa, la única disponible para todos estaba ubicada al lado de la sección de frutas.
Al principio la alegría de Alma era evidente, pensaba que los duraznos eran gratis, pero cuando se le explicó que no podía comerlos sin antes pagarlos, su rostro cambió. Solamente cuando observó los dos pollos, y sus contornos, sobre la mesa fue cuando recuperó la sonrisa.
Celebrar la vida es una ocasión especial para reunirse y dar gracias a Dios por estar juntos. Evité afrontar una celebración de mayor magnitud porque preparar y servir comida, complacer diversos gustos musicales y brindar, además de estar allí para conversar con todos los invitados, y al finalizar limpiar todo; dejó de ser una idea atractiva para disfrutar mi cumpleaños.
En esta etapa de mi vida considero más trascendental valorar la unión familiar. Conversar entre anécdotas graciosas y ver a Alma pasándola bien junto a sus abuelos, tanto en el almuerzo como paseando en el centro comercial y sus alrededores. En la casa, la ceremonia del cantar juntos el "Cumpleaños Feliz", posteriormente picar la torta, también provocó muchas risas, debido a que Alma sopló la vela en varias ocasiones, aplaudiendo su travesura. También quería saborear la crema 😋.
Aunque era costumbre hacer la torta en familia, como ya indiqué con anterioridad, opté por comprar una a mi gusto: chocolate con fresas, crema chantilly y bizcocho, para evitar invertir tanto tiempo. Todos quedaron complacidos con mi elección, incluso, la pequeña, quien se comió algunas fresas. La pasamos muy bien y comimos delicioso.
