Not Selling

This is another entry on the saga of my mom's journey with ETH. This time it was one about selling.

We all probably know about how crypto has been in the last few days. ETH has lost over 50% of its value, and so have lots of other cryptos. And then there's some more that have lost even more of their value.

And my mom wanted to sell. A short conversation with her later and she decided not to do that but for a while, it was iffy. She wasn't used to the volatility of seeing an asset deprecate like that.

I guess thats going to be the same case for a lot of people. They aren't used to things falling this much at all once, and who can blame them. Crypto definitely isn't traditional. But a few things convinced her to stay. First the price was closer to her buy in price than it was to 0. She didn't lose it all. Second, it was money she was willing to lose and I told her something that I myself have done a long time ago.

STOP LOOKING AT THE PRICES EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY

Honestly, I'm so out of tune with prices sometimes. Especially with Hive. The only reason that I really know is because a group chat reminds me of the prices. If not for them, Hive could go to $10 in the next few hours and I probably wouldn't know. All I know is the amount of Hive I have and that keeps going up. Same with other crypto. Quantity goes up, and even though short term price movement might mean I'm down, long term I'll be up.
