Afternoon everyone….

Just as I got back from one of my suppliers, the mailman was delivering our mail. Once he saw me pull up he was making his way towards me. He handed me the usual bills, but he also handed me a small box.

I was caught by surprise, since I haven’t ordered anything. I looked at the return address and it had my address listed there as well.

Now I’m puzzled….

Once I got inside, I pulled out my pocket knife and cut the tape. There was a triple folded envelope on top once I opened the flaps. Of course I immediately opened it.

It is from a friend of mine who lives in south Jersey now. A while back, late April or early May or maybe both. I helped him move from his old house to his new one.

Quick version. My neighbor bought a monster landscaping covered trailer at auction for practically nothing. The frame was in great shape but body was horrible. Holes and dents all over. During COVID shutdown he totally restored it, and he let me borrow it.

We made three separate trips with my truck full and the trailer full over the course of two weeks. After the first time we borrowed it my buddy tried to give my neighbor money. My neighbor wouldn’t take it. Same the second time.

So after the final borrow, my buddy had me stop at the Bottle King by me. It’s a liquor store that has everything. That day they were having a Corona promotion, with Corona girls. Cooler, t-shirt, hats. Bottle openers giveaways. They had this blow up pool on display. It was about six feet around.

My buddy went up to the guy and asked for the pool. The guy told him if he bought five cases he’d give him it. Well, my buddy bought the five cases, plus bottles of other hard liquor. I don’t remember if all but I know tequila was one.

I actually asked him if he was thirsty. He said no and said watch this. He pulled down the door to the trailer, laid the pool down. Then proceeded to fill the pool with cases of beer and the bottles he bought.

I asked him what he was doing? He said it’s for your neighbor for borrowing the trailer. I broke his chops and said what about the guy who loaded and unloaded it all and drove your ass back and forth? He said don’t worry once I unpack and find it, I’ve got something for you.

Well….

Here is my gift, no I honestly wasn’t expecting anything.

That my friends is a gorgeous 1884 CC Morgan silver dollar. What a gift. It’s raw, but will definitely grade no lower then an MS63. So it’s a $750-$1200 coin depending on the grade.
