This time, the chosen card was Sunkai Harvester. As always, I went to the wiki to learn everything possible about the card's lore.
En esta ocasión, la carta seleccionada fue Sunkai Harvester. Como siempre, nos vamos a la wiki para aprender todo lo posible del lore de la carta.
The Sunkai are a ruthless tribe of nomads who believe that the suns of the universe have granted them a pure purpose: to harvest all life so it can be reshaped and renewed for a new beginning. Their Harvesters, blessed according to their faith with the power to absorb the life force of fallen enemies, grow stronger with every life they take. In battle, they wield powerful scythes to attack from a distance, shielding themselves behind well-armed Sunkai warriors, making them especially lethal against unarmed opponents.
Los Sunkai son una tribu nómada despiadada que cree que los soles del universo les han otorgado un propósito puro: cosechar toda la vida para moldearla y renovarla en un nuevo comienzo. Sus Cosechadores, bendecidos según su fe con el poder de absorber la energía vital de sus enemigos caídos, se fortalecen con cada vida que toman. En batalla, utilizan poderosas guadañas para atacar desde la distancia, protegiéndose detrás de guerreros Sunkai bien armados, siendo especialmente letales contra oponentes desarmados.

Perfect! We know they wield scythes, and their headdresses reference the sun. Plus, they are fierce warriors, which gives us insight into their attire and expression.
¡Perfecto! Sabemos que empuñan guadañas y que su tocado es una referencia al sol. Además, son guerreros furiosos, lo que nos da parte de la indumentaria y expresión.
With the idea in place, I started the sketch: a well-defined bone structure and a body created through somewhat random straight strokes, following the card's original expression up to the canvas edges. I had some doubts about whether to include the scythe, but I decided to only show the handle, sacrificing that detail for better composition. Once the sketch was done, I moved on to the line art, playing with linear values to create deeper shadows. Finally, I added colors, highlights, shadows, and a background to make our figure stand out.
Listos con la idea, comenzamos con el boceto: una estructura ósea bien definida y prosigo con el cuerpo a través de trazos rectos, un poco más al azar, siguiendo la expresión de la carta original hasta donde llegue el lienzo. Aquí tuve unas dudas acerca de si hacerle o no la guadaña, pero me decanté por solo mostrar la empuñadura, sacrificando ese detalle en favor de una mejor composición. Con todo el boceto listo, empecé con el line art y, de ahí, jugué un poco con el valor lineal para obtener mayores profundidades en las zonas de sombra. Por último, agregué algo de color, algunas luces y sombras, y un fondo para que nuestra figura destaque.
