This morning started with a rush, even though the cool breeze of the morning still floated around me, but the feeling of duty that was waiting ahead began to form quickly. More than two hours had passed since my normal waking time every day, as if time had flown faster than ever, even though I had set the alarm clock, but the sound disappeared into the blissful sleep, causing the start of a new day to be delayed than I had intended.
However, when I woke up, the light immediately guided me into my role of the day. The kitchen became the starting point of movement before going out to do some light exercise on the familiar road in the village. The first step was to prepare the cooked rice with clean water, simmer it until it was soft, and savor the fried salted fish until it gave off an enticing aroma, in order to prepare a warm breakfast for my husband before he woke up.
Then, the fragrant aroma of freshly roasted coffee filled the kitchen. I ground the coffee beans, preparing them for brewing and drinking in the morning, while taking care of my mother. Today's menu is simple but full of care, which is hot chicken congee with orange carrots. And the green morning glory faded. In the rush, the picture of my mother's breakfast was not recorded, but the image of the hot rice porridge in the bowl was still clear in my memory.
When breakfast was ready, it was time to take care of the little members of the house. Starting from soaking small pellets to fill the turtle's stomach, then mixing a glass of warm powdered milk for the parrot.
The kitchen tasks were finished, it was time to take care of the small housework that was still pending. During that time, an idea flashed into my mind. In order not to waste time, I put my mother's clothes in the washing machine, added detergent, and pressed the button to let the machine run for 15 minutes.
While the washing machine was doing its job, it was time to prepare for exercise. I put on my favorite sneakers and comfortable clothes and stepped out of the garden house, heading to the concrete road in the village. The atmosphere on both sides of the road this morning was moist with dewdrops on the grass. The morning sunlight was starting to warm up, touching my skin, as if my body knew my intention to exercise. Sweat started to seep out even before I started running.
With the duties that lay ahead this morning, I had to rush back to do the tasks that were still pending. That feeling of responsibility It is the driving force that makes every move full of vigor. Even though waking up late changes the schedule a bit, the heart is still determined to do everything the best today.
Exercise
The concrete road stretched out, the determination sparked in my heart. I decided to run with a firm and fast pace, and headed towards my goal, which was to conquer the distance from the main road to the quiet area behind the temple.
The two sides of the road that I passed were quiet, as if I was the only one in this village, to witness this exercise. However, the external calm did not extinguish the heat inside. The sunlight began to shine down until I felt the heat spreading throughout my body. But what was even hotter was my own mind. The various duties and responsibilities that rushed into my mind, like waves that crashed without ceasing. Not to mention the tasks at the garden house that were still pending, and the feeling of inexperience in something that made my heart restless.
As my feet continued to move forward, my thoughts flowed deeper, like a river that never stopped. It circled around the story of the work that had to be done, like a shadow that followed me everywhere. Until fatigue began to bite, my body began to protest, so I had to slow down and stop running.
In that moment of exhaustion, my senses suddenly returned. I realized that I was letting my distracting thoughts take over me, and I forgot the goal of my current action: to exercise to strengthen my body and mind. When I realized this, I let out a deep sigh, as if releasing a burden, and decided to start running again.
Today, I ran two to three laps. The sound of determination echoed in my heart, so I continued running with a resolute mind before deciding to turn back to the garden house with a good feeling and refreshment, as if I had been fulfilled from the mission I had accomplished this morning.

Prepare breakfast for my beloved husband with attention to every detail. Hot, fragrant rice porridge with crispy fried salted fish that goes well together is placed on the table.
Along with two more cups of coffee for the two of us to sip.
After the two of us are full and energized for the new day, another important mission arrives. The food that my mother has prepared since early morning is just right to cool down. I slowly feed my mother with love and care in every bite. Then prepare clothes and equipment necessary for taking care of my mother every day. Take my mother to wash her body and dress her before starting physical therapy with determination to make my mother move her body and feel more comfortable with every touch and care.

Another mission that I give no less importance to is taking care of my little friends. Today, the food I bring them is fresh fruits from my own garden. Ripe yellow papaya and ripe bananas are cut into bite-sized pieces for the smart parrot. Steamed rice and boiled eggs are another favorite menu of the little ones. In addition, there is pellet food for the Shucata tortoises that I have carefully selected to provide them with complete nutrition.
The images of parrots happily pecking at fruits and the Chucata tortoises slowly crawling towards food always bring a smile and a little happiness to me. Taking care of these creatures fills me with a sense of giving and makes our garden more lively.
When chaos swirls: lessons in returning to the present
However, the seemingly continuous tasks of taking care of family members and pets made me feel like I was being swept away by a strong current today. The rush of dealing with various duties, thoughts of the past, and worries about the future that had yet to come, all came to my mind, making me feel confused and disoriented.
While cleaning the pet cage, my mind was not focused on what I was doing. My hands were scrubbing and thinking about various things until I realized that my body was here, but my mind was far away. An unease began to build up. I realized that letting my thoughts wander like this would not only reduce my work efficiency, but also cause me to miss the precious present moment, which was a pity.
I decided to put my hands on the task at hand for a moment, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled. I repeated this several times. As the turmoil gradually faded away, I tried to bring my awareness back to my breath and to the sensations of my body at that moment. Taking a break and reflecting on my emotions allowed me to see the truth that happiness and peace are not in the past or the future, but in the “now” that we are living.
Realizing this truth made me feel like I had freed myself from the shackles of chaotic thoughts. I refocused on the task at hand, cleaning the pet cages with determination, and appreciating the small joys that I get from taking care of them.
Finally, I decided to put all of these feelings and experiences into writing. I hope that my story today will be a friend and encouragement to many people who are facing chaos in their lives, to take a break, reflect, and return to the present to find peace.
