It's been a while since I joined the weekend engagement, so today, I am pleased to share my answer in one of @galenkp's questions for this weekend's engagement topics.

Do you want to lose weight and be healthier? Explain why and what you're doing to make it happen.

Definitely yes, I want to lose weight and be healthier.

Today, I cannot deny it, but I am devastated by losing weight so hard.

I am putting in so much effort to lose weight. When I face a setback, it might feel like a betrayal of my hard work, devotion, and effort. I might feel angry, remorseful, or even humiliated, which can be unpleasant when my body does not match the effort I put in.

It's difficult to accept that I'm desperate to reduce weight, not just for aesthetic reasons, but also because it's essential for my health. Walking or climbing stairs can be difficult when I have asthma, and my body feels like it is against me. Fitness is no longer the primary goal; breathing, unrestrained mobility, and living without the fear of weariness are all vital.

Losing weight is a real struggle, not only for health reasons, but also to reclaim one's sense of self. I'm dealing with both bodily and emotional pain. My confidence might erode gradually when my body begins to limit my options, whether dressed a certain way, participating in activities with friends, or simply feeling good about myself.

To attain my weight loss and health goals, I will take the following actions:

I've had to run every afternoon since my vacation began.

According to the research, walking and running are excellent cardiovascular exercises that can help you lose weight and improve your overall health.

I burn calories doing both activities, which is essential for weight loss. Walking can still significantly impact, especially when done regularly, but running burns more calories each minute. These activities increase my metabolic rate, so my body burns calories even after working out. Frequent cardio helps my body burn fat for energy when combined with a balanced diet.

I started drinking water more frequently.

According to research, when I drink water, my body heats up to body temperature, temporarily increasing my metabolism and allowing me to burn a few additional calories.

Drinking more water can feel energizing and empowering, especially if attempting to reduce weight and improve your health. This small practice gives me some control over my body and decisions. Each glass represents a stride toward self-care, discipline, and purification. Even those tranquil moments at the water fountain or sipping from a bottle can remind me of my commitment to myself, and I may notice that I feel lighter, more energized, and less bloated.

When prioritizing weight loss and striving for a healthy body, I often feel like I've finally found myself. It's mostly empowering, but there's also a sense of fear, optimism, and determination. I'm taking control of my life rather than simply reacting to it. Every exercise session, mindful diet, and healthy decision becomes a silent victory. Feeling lighter, stronger, and more conscious of my body's needs is more significant than the number on the scale.

Instead of punishing yourself, it is critical to carefully design a path that promotes your health while avoiding burnout.

But please remember: Our effort still matters. Progress isn't always linear, and weight is just one part of a much bigger picture. We haven't lost our discipline, growth, or what we've learned about ourselves.
