What's up plebs?!
Got another shiny silver coin for your viewing pleasure today:
Let's have a closer before talking a bit about it:
So, today we have a Brazilian coin, 2000 REIS minted in 1927. The denomination on the obverse is flanked by branches of coffee and tobacco, both important crops in Brazil at the time.
As for the obverse, it features the effigy of the Republic, depicted as a classical female bust facing left, wearing the Phrygian cap a long standing symbol for freedom and liberty.
There's also the text
REPUBLICA DOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRASIL
For
Republic of the United States of Brazil
Silverwise, we have 8 g of 0.500. Not great, not terrible.
I guess more than enough for a night's meal in a potential economic collapse scenario. Maybe enough for a woman's warmth too 🙃
All in all, a pretty standard coin from the era. I got it for spot price as part of bundle deal so I think I did well enough.
Ok friends, this is it for today. I keep stacking more and more shiny every month so I have plenty of stuff to still share ☺️
Have a good one.
