What is this guy now talking about :-)?

Folks that know me, are aware that I drive a music community for any genre since community option was avalaible on our blockchain (was before it got called Hive - also did music communities on non web3 communities before - maybe @steevc remembers this from a platform called tsu :-)!) - Some friends know me for a broader music taste, not only Techno - I love Rock from my youth - I learned about synthi early as well - like both styles - ended up to become a DJ for Techno / Trance - always having in mind to combine these different music areas - rock/metal and Techno have most in common - today I will bother you with some thoughts about Trance music - which I listen all day mainly - motivates me and also relaxes my inner Uwe if I think I am stressed

Trance - a Journey Through Sound and Soul

I've been diving deep into the roots and evolution of trance music, and I wanted to share some insights and personal reflections on this mesmerizing genre.

Origins and Evolution:

Trance music emerged in the late '80s and early '90s, blossoming from the electronic scenes of Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands. Frankfurt, in particular, played a pivotal role in shaping the early trance sound, with its fusion of techno and house influences. ([Wikipedia][1])

Subgenres and Styles:

Over the years, trance has diversified into various subgenres:

  • Goa Trance: Originating from the beaches of Goa, India, this style is known for its psychedelic elements and spiritual undertones. ([Wikipedia][2])

  • Psytrance: A derivative of Goa trance, characterized by high-tempo riffs and layered melodies. ([Wikipedia][3])

  • Progressive Trance: Emphasizes gradual build-ups and atmospheric sounds, offering a more melodic experience. ([MasterClass][4])

  • Uplifting Trance: Known for its emotional melodies and euphoric climaxes, aiming to elevate the listener's spirit.

Cultural Impact:

Trance music has not only influenced the electronic music scene but has also left its mark on global pop culture. Festivals like Tomorrowland and A State of Trance (ASOT) have brought together millions of fans worldwide, celebrating the unity and transcendence that trance offers.

Some of my favourite tunes:

1) Robert Miles from Italy - RIP

*2) Scooter (no worries, no vocals by HP)*

3) Three Drives (you might realize I love Ibiza style Tranced a lot)

4) Yves Deruyter (the only Dutch that made it to my shortlist)

*5) Binary Finary (classic from the UK - no doubt to be here)*

*6) Jam and Spoon (my national choice of course 1 - but that is just a remix, original from the Benelux)*

*7) DJ Dag with Dance2Trance (my national choice no. 2 of course)*

Personal Reflections:

For me, trance has always been more than just music; it's a journey. The way it builds, breaks, and lifts mirrors the highs and lows of life. It's a genre that speaks to the soul, offering solace, energy, and a sense of belonging.
