My husband, @n4nd0, works in a security systems company and one of his coworkers recommended him to take me to lunch at a restaurant called "Tío Jacinto ". According to my husband's partner this is one of the best restaurants in the city of Antofagasta, so we wanted to visit it to get to know it and continue celebrating life and honoring my birthday.
Tío Jacinto" Restaurant, with more than 40 years of tradition in the city, is a very familiar and exclusive place, specialized in fish and seafood. Also, it has been a nationally recognized restaurant for 5 consecutive years among the 100 best restaurants in Chile. According to the prestigious "Guide 100 CAV" of the Wine Lovers Club that every year makes a selection of the 100 best restaurants in the country.
Polé, welcomed us and was the one who attended us most of the time, because the owner also came to take our order.
One of the things I liked about the service was that they were always looking after our table and making sure everything was okay.
As usual we were served a portion of rolls with a "Pebre" sauce and a spicy mayonnaise, along with a couple of beers, which was what we ordered to drink. For me, beer goes very well with white meats such as fish or seafood.
For a change we ordered as a starter Machas in four cheeses, a mollusk that we had never tried before. And I must say that it was an excellent choice because they were really exquisite and very fresh.
As a main course I ordered a fried fish called "Cabrilla" accompanied by sautéed potatoes that were seasoned with garlic, merken and coriander. The cabrilla has a taste similar to hake, but with a slightly milder flavor and no bones. The potatoes were delicious. The combination of ingredients was just perfect.
Fernando, ordered a grilled octopus over rustic potatoes, cherry tomatoes, garnished with thin sprigs of cilantro, bathed with olive oil. I must say that I really liked the presentation of this dish. It looked beautiful and it was also very tasty, because as usual, Fernando gave me a taste of his dish and I gave him a taste of mine.
When we finished eating and paid the bill the owner served us a digestive drink called Cynar which is an Italian aperitif. This liqueur is made with artichokes and 13 herbs. Its taste is bitter, but it leaves a pleasant and final sweetness on the palate.
We finished this celebration by having an aromatic coffee with a delicious "Cocada" for dessert at El Café del Desierto, which by the way, had a device on the table that caught my attention, as I had not seen it before. It is a device with the options Call, Bill and Cancel. The first option is pressed to call the waiter, the third to pay the bill and the last option to cancel the previous ones.
To finish I want to quote some very wise words that I really liked from our dear friend @aguamiel: "Life is celebrated every day and birthdays are honored".
So try to celebrate and be thankful for your life every day, either by having a cup of coffee and enjoying your company or by the side of a very dear person.

Mi esposo, @n4nd0, trabaja en una empresa de sistemas de seguridad y uno de sus compañeros de trabajo le recomendó que me llevara a almorzar a un restaurante que se llama "Tío Jacinto". Según el compañero de mi esposo este es uno de los mejores restaurantes de la ciudad de Antofagasta, así que quisimos ir a visitarlo para conocerlo y seguir celebrando la vida y y honrando mi cumpleaños.
El Restaurante "Tío Jacinto", con más de 40 años de tradición en la ciudad es un lugar muy familiar y exclusivo, especialistas en pescados y mariscos. También, ha sido un restaurante reconocido a Nivel Nacional durante 5 años consecutivos entre los 100 mejores restaurantes de Chile. Según la prestigiosa «Guía 100 CAV» del Club de Amantes de Vino que cada año realiza una selección con los 100 mejores restaurantes del país.
Polé, nos dio la bienvenida y fue quien nos atendió la mayoría del tiempo, porque el dueño también se acercó a tomarnos el pedido.
Una de las cosas que me gustó de la atención es que siempre estaban pendientes de nuestra mesa y de que todo estuviera bien.
Como de costumbre nos sirvieron una ración de panecillos con una salsa de "Pebre" y una mayonesa especiada, junto con un par de cervezas que fue lo que pedimos para beber. Para mí, la cerveza va muy bien con carnes blancas como lo es el pescado o los mariscos.
Para variar ordenamos como entrada Machas en cuatro quesos, molusco que nunca habíamos probado. Y debo decir que fue una excelente elección porque estaban realmente exquisitos y muy frescos.
Como plato fuerte pedí un pescado frito llamado "Cabrilla" acompañado de papas salteadas que estaban sazonadas con ajo, merkén y cilantro. La cabrilla tiene un sabor parecido a la merluza, pero con un sabor un poco más suave y no tiene espinas. Las papas estabas deliciosas. La combinación de los ingredientes fue simplemente perfecta.
Fernando, ordenó un pulpo grillado sobre unas papas rústicas, tomatitos cherries, decorado con finas ramas de cilantro, bañado con aceite de oliva. Debo decir que me gustó mucho la presentación de este plato. Se veía hermoso y además estaba muy rico, pues como es costumbre, Fernando me dio a probar de su plato y yo del mío a él.
Cuando terminamos de comer y pagamos la cuenta el dueño nos sirvió una bebida digestiva llamada Cynar que es un aperitivo italiano. Este licor está elaborado con alcachofas y 13 hierbas. Su sabor es amargo, pero te deja en el paladar un agradable y final dulzor.
Terminamos esta celebración tomándonos un aromático café con una rica "Cocada" como postre en El Café del Desierto que por cierto, tenía un dispositivo en la mesa que llamó mucho mi atención, pues no lo había visto antes. Es un aparato con las opciones Call, Bill y Cancel. La primera opción se presiona para llamar al mesonero, la tercera para pagar la cuenta y la última opción para cancelar las anteriores.
Para terminar quiero citar unas palabras muy sabias que me gustaron mucho de nuestra querida amiga @aguamiel: "La vida se celebra todos los días y los cumpleaños se honran".
Así que trata de celebrar y agradecer tu vida todos los días, ya sea tomándote un taza de café y disfrutando de tu compañía o al lado de una persona muy querida.
